Who the hell cares about HHH/HBK at SS

Recommended Posts

Guest Cubbie78

Hell I dont know why people have been talking about the HHH/HBK match...HHH sucks, HBK is a gimp, they might still have a good match though, but nothing spectacular...But I havent really heard shit about the RVD/Benoit potential MOTY...these two showed they have something together on RAW...give it 10-15 more minutes, add in a little psychology, mix stir, and we have a great match..the HHH/HBK doesnt even matter to me, Im not watching it for that, cause HBK WONT be his old self, he probably still is good considering the training hes been having, but Benoit/RVD will be GREAT, I am stoked to watch the match

After watching their Raw match, I have little faith that they'll produce anything close to a MOTYC. I'd like to proven wrong, but I don't see it happening.

If RVD Benoit isn't the opening match, I'll be shocked. I'd be even more shocked if it goes more than 8 minutes. Its ashame too, cause its really the only match on the card Im even halfway interested in.

I only wished that the two guys were on the same brand to have a bigger build up than that one match. But that one match does make a second match seem like a forbidden fruit or something and just makes me want to see it that much more.

Not like I didn't like it, I just didn't think it was that good, what with Rob showing he has the attention span of a hyperactive crack-head when it came to selling, and that they gelled together about as well as oil and water. Way too many awkward transitions, way too much arm work for so little pay off with the crossface, and way too iffy selling for Rob.

Eh, I could really care less about the match just because I hate Van Dam, so that's one strike against them already. Also, I wasn't terribly impressed with the RAW match, either. RVD sucked some serious dick when it came time to sell the goddamn arm, like Ricky said.

Bleh, if it's a good match, I'll be pleasently surprised, but I don't have any high expectations for this match whatsoever.

Marvin, it's pretty sad if the only match your interested in at Summerslam is the match that has absolutely no storyline to it and no hype.

Haven't benoit and RVD been working house shows together lately?

The match will be at least **** from where I sit.... And Albert is a hoss but could stand to see him lose a few pounds in my book.

People are talking about HBK/HHH because we are interested in seeing if HBK can still deliever one last time.

No one is talking about RVD/Benoit because the WWE kinda just threw it there, without any build-up at all.

I don't get whre you're coming from with that statement. On Raw, at least, they've been building Van Dam up as Bischoff's, hmm, "special child" who is the Bisch's first cahcne to strike a vital blow against Stephanie McMahon. Of course, this is only Raw, because I don't get UPN... but it's still pretty not-awful buildup.

Not to mention that Benoit won the IC title from Rob in a screwy fashion and then jumped to Smackdown!, which puts RVD in possition to chase him by getting this opportunity on Pay Per View. Not exactly a hard sell, but if definitely works, plus all the crap with Steph/Bischoff puts more than enough focus on it.

For a PPV Title match, there has been far too little build-up

I wonder why RVD's PPV matches must have such sucky buildup?

His Judgment Day rematch with Eddy Guerrero had god-awful buildup, as between Backlash and JD there was nothing but mix-and-match tag matches and blatant run-ins. Oh, and a TERRIBLE promo from Eddy where he said "WWF" by mistake and "Who the hell do you think you are, R V.... D?"

I don't know why, but that made me laugh like a mother-fucker.

That was pretty much my reaction to that promo. And people give Benoit a lot of shit? His promos certainly haven't been *that* bad.

Thankfully Eddy's redeemed himself since then. He was hilarious last week on Smackdown.

lol..I guess my problem is I watched wrestling in the eighties (AWA, WCCW, NWA) and the WWF till like 94, and WCW till like 96...But after that, I didnt start watching again till Janurary 2001...so I missed a lot of classis HBK stuff, and I dont mark for him cause I missed his whol 94-98 runand so I dont care....Hell, I still identify him with the midnight rockers from the AWA...sigh...I have seen some of his greater matches on tape, and he was great, but there isnt that markish sense I have for him, let alone all his D-X stuff...sooo
