Yes, Metal is dead.

Obviously.

I actually think it was a Mistake to put on Fozzy while Jericho being a heel and works the crowd before and after their song geez.

And I think he was too much in character while singing he didn't make the transition to total singer, he still kept that grading Wrestling whiny voice into the match. The CD probably does sound better because there wouldn't be the wrestling distraction.

He was bad last night because CHRIS JERICHO was singing.

The Lead Singer of Fozzy is Moongoose McQueen.

Duh.

Yep, metal is dead...which would be why metal and punk are the 2 most popular genres of rock in the world today, and a new metal band is formed every other day, correct?

If any kind of music is dead, it's swing.

It was pretty disheartening that the crowd booed JERICHO so badly when THE BAND really ruled the guitar. They have really solid chemistry and , even though metal is dead, it still sounded good enough. Jericho dogged it and really shouldn't sing in his heel persona.

Posted

I agree fully with that. I bet Jericho talked to Fozzy backstage and said:

"Ok, now...I'm a heel...you're my band...we're probably gonna get booed."

Other Band Mates: "Pfft...we're used to that...remember Stuck Mojo?"

Anyway, I thought Fozzy did rather well last night. I mean, Motley Crue didn't sound great when they played, right?

If you ask me, it looked like Jericho made a stop at "Hair Band for Hire"

Chris sounded pretty brutal, but he sounds ok in the commercial so I'll cut him some slack.

I won't see RAW until Friday, but I think Jericho was bad on purpose. You can't be having heels making good music, it'd provide a positive quality.

And I'm pissed that Jericho broke kayfabe with the Moongoose thing, too.

Metal is dead when showcased to the WWE crowd, yet SLayer has no problem selling out every venue on the tour.

Metal changed to After Burn. (ducking)

And still kicking all kinds of motherfucking ass. I take it you saw them, correct? Did they have the church backdrop with "GOD HATES US ALL" written in blood all over the walls?

To quote the extremely cheesy, yet ever-so-fun, Helloween...METAL WILL NEVER DIE!

As a fellow lead singer, I can testify that doing that promo before the performance probably didn't help his singing ability at all. I know I usually need a little bit of warming up then I rest my throat for a long time till it's showtime, but cutting promos and wasting your throat sound before a performance will fuck up your ability to put on a picture perfect performance. And it's also a commonly known fact that most singers seem to suck in person (again, listen to what someone else said in this thread about studios working to clear up a person's voice..but although they do work out the kink's in someone's singing ability they don't monstrously alter it that much, or it'd be VERY noticeable). just look at Lenny from Motorhead at the WM X-7 performance... HE SUCKED, but listen to HHH's theme when he comes, he jsut rules on that.

For some reason, while I enjoyed the band's performance on Raw, whenever I think of the song, I plug in my favorite WCW-era Bret Hart line for the chorus.

Who are youuuuuuuu

To doubt El Dandy?

After all that he's been through!

There is a huge difference between pure Metal, which is quite dead... and Nu Metal, most of which is generic shit anyway.

And Punk? Don't even get me started on that

Well said...

... *although the guy's name is Lemmy ;)

And pardon my French, but Sinatra owns nothing but a dirt mound. He pales in comparison to the true King of Swing, Benny Goodman. Yeah!

Fozzy sucks. Metal is not dead. It's been pushed to the backburner in the mainstream for horrible crap like pop music and happy so-called "punk" like Blink 182, as well as bastard rap-rock acts like Limp Bizkit. I've been to plenty of old-school metal concerts in the last year, and they drew pretty damn well.

PLUS...that's only in the US. Metal is still popular worldwide. Iron Maiden's "Brave New World" album went #1 in nearly every major country EXCEPT for the US. However, Stuck Mojo's shitty playing and Jericho's shitty voice is doing the old school no favors whatsoever. I would hardly even call them a real metal band, but something more along the lines of a hair band masquerading as a metal band.

I was just waiting for their drummer to explode....

"Good night, Springton. There will be no encore!"
