Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Great selection this week, although next week has almost twice as many releases. Gremlins & Gremlins 2: Special Editions They are finally here! While the original Gremlins has been available on DVD for a few years (including a re-release with new cover art), this is a great special edition with 2 commentaries and more. To make it even better, Gremlins 2 finally gets released, and it's a loaded disc as well. These are must haves if you are a fan of these films. I know I am, I already bought them. Jackie Brown Tarantinophiles will be happy that his most recent work has finally made it to DVD. The disc is loaded too, so hopefully there won't be another version released a year from now. Pretty in Pink One of the most popular Brat Pack movies makes it debut. It's a bare bones release, with widescreen and 5.1 being the only noteable "features". Pulp Fiction: Special Edition Another movie that has been availble on DVD for a while, but was in need of a special edition. I never bought the original disc, so I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Fans of the film should be pleased with this loaded SE. Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit Anchor Bay continues to prove that they are the kings of horror DVD with this kick ass release. The box set includes the same Sleepaway Camp disc that was released before, as well as brand new SE's of Sleepaway Camp II & III. Not only that, but the box set includes a 4th disc of production footage from the unfinished Sleepaway Camp IV: Survivor. To top it off, the box set is cheap. I picked it up here in Toronto for $40 Canadian including tax, so that works out to $10 a disc. I don't think fans of the SC films will have to think twice about picking this baby up. 'Till next week.

Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted August 20, 2002 I got the Hogan DVD and thus far I've been very pleased. For starters, it's only $20 at Best Buy, which is great considering it's a 2-Disc 6 hour DVD set. Then, the feature sounds like it's got some real good stuff, like chapters devoted to his early WWF feuds with the likes of Piper and Savage. Then the extras are just kickin, since there's a lot of stuff even I have never seen like his return to the WWF from the AWA in 83, his match at Shea, his SNME match with Perfect, and some additional footage from the mid-80's. The transfer for his match with Sheik at MSG is a little odd for some reason, dunno if it's just my disc, but I doubt it, since I heard that the Flair/Steamboat match on the HHH DVD is a little off too. At any rate, a definate must for fans of classic wrestling footage on DVD, and newer fans who didn't see Hulkamania at the height of its popularity.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 20, 2002 I got Pulp Fiction, Gremlins and Sleepaway Camp box set. Sleepaway Camp is ultra cheap at Best Buy only 24.99. Pulp Fiction SE is 15.99 and Gremlins SE is 14.99. That's why i love Best Buy.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 20, 2002 also: Van Wilder All About the Benjamins We were Soldiers The Sweetest Thing Joe Somebody Hulk Still Rules. I was aware of those other releases, but as I said before, I only mention DVD's that interest me. I don't have any desire to check out those titles you mentioned, except for We Were Soldiers, which I may rent.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Just 7 more days, CHUD...7 more days... 7 days? Whatcha talkin' 'bout foo? I picked up the Return of the Living Dead DVD on Saturday dude, along with Needful Things! Trust me, the disc rocks, and the cover glows in the dark!
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted August 20, 2002 also: Van Wilder All About the Benjamins We were Soldiers The Sweetest Thing Joe Somebody Hulk Still Rules. Lots of stuff this week... most of it's crap...but I HAVE to get the sleepaway camp set. *is pumped* Waitaminute, bps... You like the NWA AND Sleepaway Camp? Were we seperated at birth or something? Anyhow, as a diehard Sleepaway fan, I ran out this morning and got the boxed set at Best Buy. Also at Best Buy, I got Van Wilder for $15.99, and when you buy it, you get Weekend At Bernie's on DVD for FREE! So you get 6 DVD's for what, $44 counting tax? Not bad if you ask me. I wonder if the bonus disc on Sleepaway will shed some light as to why Return to Sleepaway Camp mysteriously vanished from IMDB's listings. Anyone got info? Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Seriously...God bless Anchor Bay. NO ONE else would release that stuff, but they do. Oh they do. If I could violate them carnally, I would.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Damn... this is a helluva (err... hell of a) week. Note to self: clean out bank account and go to Best Buy... NOW! Seriously, I wonder how long it'll take for me to capitalize on any of these releases... anyone know what the MSRP of the Sleepaway Camp Box Set is? 'Cuz if $25 is drastically cheaper, I'll probably borrow money from somebody to get that one now while it's still on sale.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Actually... 25 dollars is what the sticker price said on the box at best buy. But bestbuy.com listed it at 35. So...I dunno.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Best Buy puts the sale price on the sticker. Amazon has it for $29.99 and their prices usually aren't "sale prices".
Guest RobJohnstone Report post Posted August 20, 2002 I already ordered jackie brown, pulp fiction and reservior dogs from amazon --Rob

Guest Karnage Report post Posted August 21, 2002 Amazon.ca has them if you want to pay for shipping. Nah, I can buy them one by one when I have money. I don't have a credit card anyways since I'm only 15.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 21, 2002 I wonder if the bonus disc on Sleepaway will shed some light as to why Return to Sleepaway Camp mysteriously vanished from IMDB's listings. Anyone got info? Yeah, that was BS listing posted by some guy who was pissed at the SC crew because they wouldn't give his website inside info on the making of Return to Sleepaway Camp. Don't worry, the sequel is still in the works, but the investor who is putting up the money has been tangled up in overseas business for a few months, and that is holding up production. Fingers crossed.
Guest imajackoff? Report post Posted August 21, 2002 Went to Best Buy today and picked up Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown at 15.99 each, which qualified me for the From Dusk til Dawn barebones dvd. The Jackie Brown dvd had a $5 instantly off coupon if you purchased PF and JB. Pulp Fiction CE + Jackie Brown CE + From Dusk Til Dawn barebones = $28.33 including tax!
