Guest Karnage Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Has anyone seen any of the new Masters of the Universe or Transformers Armada cartoons? I hafto wait till Labour Day for the He-man movie (along with Justice League and Samurai Jack) and Transformers Armada doesn't look like it's gonna be up here for a while. Guest starvenger Report post Posted August 21, 2002 If YTV doesn't pick up either then you won't see it. Teletoon is laughably bad in it's selections of new stuff, and CanWest doesn't seem to do cartoons anymore.
Guest Karnage Report post Posted August 21, 2002 Um, YTV is getting the new Masters of The Universe along with Justice League and Samurai Jack. As for TF:A, I don't really know.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 21, 2002 I just watched my tape of the new He-Man and it's not bad at all. It has great animation and it imprves stuff without changing the story. It's basically the old He-Man cartoon with better animation...which is a good thing depending on how someone looks at it. The only problem with the show is Skelator's voice. He sounds like the Joker from the Batman cartoon and he even has mannerisms that resemble Joker. The voice doesn't fit the character that well, but it's a minor complaint and you get use to it. Transformers: Amada doesn't look all that interesting really. It just looks like another robot fighting cartoon except with bad animation. If i want a robot fighting cartoon i'll go with one of the others(Zoids, Gundam) on cartoon network that are probably better storywise and have much better animation. Guest Blue Bacchus Report post Posted August 21, 2002 TF:A should be really good. The Animation is great and the voice actors for Megatron and Optimus Prime (David Kaye and Garry Chaulk respectively) completely rule. Keep one thing in mind while you watch TF:A, it has nothing to do with the previously established series. It is in it's own universe ala Gundam or Final Fantasy. TF:A Debuts this Friday on Cartoon Network. Check their website for local times.
Guest Karnage Report post Posted August 21, 2002 Any idea when? I guess I typed it improperly in the first message but YTV is gonna have a marathon on Labour Day starting at 12pm. It kicks off with The Masters Of The Universe movie. Click Here if you want the whole schedule.

Hmm, maybe Mark Hamill did the voice? TF:A should be really good. There is actually a main Gundam timeline (UC) and a bunch of "Elseworlds" timelines (AC). So Gundam 0083 follows the main timeline and Gundam Wing is an alternate universe. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 21, 2002 Well i'm going to give TF:A a fair chance and watch it, but i just wasn't that impressed by the commercials. I hope it's better then i'm expecting.

The voice of Skeletor is actually very much like the voice used for that character in the original cartoon. It's very retro in that sense. However, I'd just like to say that it would have been so much more badass if they had bucked tradition and given him a really cool, deep, ominous voice. I'd use Chris Judge. Other than that, I really dug the pilot. The plot is pretty thin (as it pretty much always was for He-Man), but the action was good (there seems to be a bit of anime influence) and I really do love the new character designs. Some of the changes are slight (He-Man, Skeletor, Ram Man), but some of them (Man-at-Arms, Trapjaw, Triclops) are sweet. Overall, I'm looking forward to the new show.
