He basically makes 2 points:

1. The video quality was good.

So FUCKING what? That is the most irrelevant thing I have ever heard. Many of the Taliban/Al Qaeda used to cruise around in new Toyota utes, so getting a half decent video camera isn't much of a problem.

2. The dog was cute.

Once again, a totally irrelevant point. I hardly believe it to be beyond them to use one of their own pets for the "experiment".

God, I hate that fucking site. I ripped one of their worst offenders apart quite handily in this thread. Don't make me do it again, fuckos.

The best point made is that Musslims are strictly against cruelty to animals. If they are willing to kill tons of people, why would they go against this to test on dogs, why not test on humans?

I hope Marvin, you don't believe this shit.

Well Marvin, as you should know, Islam does not condone violence towards anyone, and killing fellow Muslims is not their ideal, and they could find out what they wanted to know as well as on dogs as on humans.

Im quite sorry, but Im still going to agree with the article. Its all seems a bit too fishy to me.

The video quality of the tapes is in fact too good, considering that they supposedly found the tapes burried in the middle of the desert somewhere, and its better than the tapes that the news sources get that are supposedly from Bin Laden. Just the fact that they found 60 tapes in the middle of the desert is a bit suspicious to me (why would anyone just leave the tapes in the middle of the desert, and if the US Army can't seem to find diddly squat, how all of a sudden do they find these tapes, and why would they sell them to CNN?)

Marvin, you have to consider the source: after all, whatreallyhappened is HUGE proponent of the theory that 9/11 never really happened at all, it was all faked by the federal government and/or an evil Jewish conspiracy.

Islam has condoned violence towards everyone, including other Moslems, for centuries. It is easily as violent a religion as Christianity. As for Moslems being against cruelty to animals, don't make me laugh. There's no evidence for this apart from religious anecdotes in a mouldering old book. You'll forgive me if, after a few years of seeing people treat animals like garbage in Moslem countries, I take such claims with a grain of salt.

Sorry to add my own shoddly written conspiracy, but what if, stay with me here, Bin Ladin and they Radicals took a dog, possibly from America, and found some way to make sure it was as healthy as possible, to test the gas? As cold as this may sound, I doubt Ladin and co. would risk the possibility of a dog only dying because it was weak from hunger. And as for it being cute, who knows, maybe they were planning on showing us anyway. That's one heck of a moral blow. As for the whole tape being to pretty.....Oooooooh! Maybe.....the tape just managed not to get seriously damaged. I mean, anyone out there been around a toddler or anything? You'd be amazed at what some contraptions can take and not be damaged heavily. And as for the whole "Muslims don't allow animal killing" and such, yea, it's true. However, in that whole environment, the muslim people are force fed one and only one interpretation of the Muslim holy book. This teaching allows them to be lead around by all the big leaders, to the point where they will gladly go blow themselves up. Yea, murder and killing of all forms is condoned, but the teachings have become so twisted that they could do this to a dog and have a completly clear conscience.

Oh, and if I had a considerable sum of money, I'd place a hefty bet that at least 95% of those comments from other readers were of the authors own creation.

I would almost tend to believe that we maybe have had these tapes for awhile now, and everytime our "patriotism" starts running low, another secret tape is suddenly, "found" Not to say the footage isn't real, and it is just disgusting.

Well whether the footage is real or not. Why are people anymore disgusted with this over what we do to animals for testing? We do the same damn thing......It just seems like product placement at it's finest. You used what pieces of video/footage you have WHEN IT WILL BENEFIT THE MOST.........By showing this footage of the "cute doggy" what kind of statement is the government saying? Stop Animal testing!?! I seriously doubt it.

For one thing, you idiot, the government isn't putting this out. The government didn't even know these tapes existed. A CNN reporter found them. For another, you can't have it both ways. Either it's "product placement at it's [sic] finest," or it's dumb and ineffective melodrama. Make up your mind.

What gets me is that you morons always want to have your cake and eat it too. The government's plots are inconceivably cunning, devious, and convoluted, the conspiracies layered so deep no one can see them, but at the same the government is doltish and incompetent. For Christ's sake, if you must bitch and whine about us, could you at least try to be consistent?

Take it from me, the government has no interest in deceiving you or any of your ilk. You do a fine job of that all by yourselves. And frankly, we weren't overloaded with that much free time in the first place. We do have slightly more important things to do, like oh say keeping the country running and keeping your worthless hide in one piece. You're welcome.

Jackass.

As for the reactions this tape occasioned, most people are probably horrified because what they saw could happen to them, and because the experiment was conducted explicitly to that end. Being imprisoned in a cage and having shampoo rubbed in their eyes isn't really an immediate danger, so they don't care as much about animal testing.

Does the world make sense again now? If not, please put a paper bag over your head and take deep breaths.

Errr, Marney easy there, settle down. First I never ever once said the government was not smart and cunning. Of course they are, but just because they are smart does not mean they are smart for THE PEOPLE'S OWN GOOD. We can have a SMART government that doesn't look out for our best interests in things, but anyway.......Who in the hell would actually click on the link to watch a tape of a dog being poisoned? I mean, seriously though, who in the hell would want to watch it? Isn't it enough to know what happened?

As for people being horrified that this could happen to them, I am not aware of the Taliban regimens being assembled over here and/or any multiple attack plans on the horizen.

The point is intent. Animal testing is not intended to be performed on humans, ergo humans aren't as horrified by it as they are by this tape.

Interesting thing about the tape quality:

The CNN story confirms that the video of the puppy dogs being gassed was brought from Afghanistan to Atlanta, popped into a VCR, and played for all to see. The photos indicate that the tapes are VHS tapes. The US video standard is NTSC (often jokingly referred to as "Never Twice the Same Color") while much of the rest of the world, INCLUDING THE MIDEAST, uses PAL/SECAM. Now, while CNN probably has dual mode VCRs and monitors, PAL/SECAM tapes cannot be broadcast over the US television system. They must first go through a standards conversion, which has the effect of greatly softening the image in the vertical direction, plus having to ignore 5 frames (10 fields) every second. This causes a "jitter" that is noticeable in PAL/SECAM tapes converted to NTSC. Going from a camcorder PAL tape, without time based correction, results in a slight horizontal drift at the top and bottom of the frames. All these artifacts are why the tapes of Osama himself are of such poor quality, including the infamous "confession" tape that turned out not to be of Osama at all. But in the "puppy snuff" video, the artifacts one expects to see from a PAL/SECAM to NTSC standards conversion do not appear to be there. A further detail is revealed in the New York Times story admitting that $30,000 was paid for the tapes by the media. While CNN's reporter got his copy of the tapes in Afghanistan, CBS was allegedly directed by their Afghan contact to obtain the tapes form Magnum Photos in New York.

I suppose you COULD say that they used NTSC tapes from America, and NTSC Camcorders to tape them, but I doubt it. This would mean that whoever was going to watch the tapes would need the conversion equipment or NTSC televisions to watch the tapes. I seriously doubt they would go through all this trouble.

http://www.antiwar.com/orig/sapienza1.html

"Each year, at least 320,000 primates, dogs, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, cats, and other animals are hurt and killed by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in experiments that rank among the most painful conducted in this country...The cost to taxpayers for these military experiments is estimated to be in excess of $100 million annually."

Im sorry if I don't feel bad for the 3 dogs that were *gassed*, but don't you think if the Government ever made these #s public (and maybe the videos too) that people other than PETA would be just as crazy (Id hope a little bit more) than over these 3 dogs that were *gassed*.
