Zorin Industries Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Fair enough, I wasn't trying to be hypocritical, I just think there is a time and a place for this sort of thing. I suppose because its politics things will get quite heated from time to time and it should be expected. For the record I don't like your views, but I respect your obvious conviction and belief in them. Funny, I didn't think i'd have your respect. I feel quite proud
Guest Cancer Marney Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I found where your talking about and i apologize but i still find your views about bombing the mecca over the top anti-semetic.Apology accepted. As for my remark, it was specifically anti-Islamic. I'm sick of the religion. You want reasons? Go look at northern Virginia, lower Manhattan, or the Pennsylvania woods.
Guest benoitrules2000 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I can accept that, but do you think there's a difference between islam and "radical" islam?
Guest Cancer Marney Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I suppose because its politics things will get quite heated from time to time and it should be expected. Yep. "For on what question should anyone of intelligence and decency be more serious? - what kind of life a man should live." - Plato, Gorgias I didn't think i'd have your respect. I feel quite proud You have it for the same reason I have yours. I don't like your views, and I think you're appallingly wrong, but you argue your points cogently. I can accept that and argue in kind. I'll never be nice about it, though.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I can accept that, but do you think there's a difference between islam and "radical" islam? Yes. However, one enables the other in a manner unique among present-day religions. It's possible to practice Islam morally and ethically. I think a lot of Moslems do so. However, I also think that a lot of Moslems who don't actively strap bombs to their chests support, if only by their silence, those who do. Christians and Jews don't do this. Hell, even Hindoos aren't nearly as bad. Moslems are the only people in the world who refuse to condemn unequivocally acts of terror committed in the name of their religion. Their obscene, deafening silence directly contributes to further murder.
Zorin Industries Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Yeah, me too. Im glad this got sorted out. Things went a bit overboard on the current events forum, and for that I apologise.
Guest TJH Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Yay! We can all be friends! As for Marney, I have respect for people who don't bullshit and just tell it like it is.
