Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I was listening to this local wrestling program on the radio, and the two guys were talking about how WWE needs to have another Hell in the Cell match, this time with RVD in it. One guy was visualizing a Rolling Thunder on top of the cell, and the second guy said that it couldn't be done because of the beams on top of the cell. The first guy then pointed out that the beams were only on the original cell used at Badd Blood (That style of cell was also used for HHH vs. Y2J and possibly Undertaker vs. Bossman, but whatever) and that the cell used for HHH vs. Cactus and Taker vs. Mankind was beam-free. The second guy then ponders what ever happened to the first cell and why they got rid of it. At this point, one of the assistants or sidekicks or whatever pipes in and claims that when the original cell was taken apart, Pat Patterson wanted to turn it into a fence for his house. Now I know that Patterson sometimes cries after classic matches and is very, very enthusiastic about the product...but I'm not sure that even he would go this far. It'd be kinda weird to have a fence made out of the Hell in the Cell.
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 And I think I just set a record for most views without a single reply...
Guest Ozymandias Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 *avoids the obvious joke about the fence being used to keep jobbers IN* Great sig pic. B)
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Great sig pic. Wrestlemania 8...kick ass match... Maybe most views with no replies ABOUT the subject
Guest kingkamala Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 *ponders* If Pat Patterson is so passionate about the product....THEN WHY DID HE COME UP WITH THE FAKE UNDERTAKER ANGLE!?
Guest Ozymandias Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Hey, Ed Wood was passionate too....
Guest The Tino Standard Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Actually, I think having the Hell in the Cell as your yard fence would be incredibly bad ass. It's like having memorabilia with a purpose. Anyway, I noticed the roof of the Hell in the Cell has had the reinforcement beams since after the Foley-UT HIAC at KOR 98. Even besides the bump where he went through the roof, you could see brackets on the thing breaking just from them walking around. With the extra reinforcement now, that doesn't happen.

With the extra reinforcement now, that doesn't happen. You know, I point that out to people who have seen the match and they still can't believe the bump through the roof was an accident. I mean, just look how fast the doctor runs into the cage. Hell, look at the actual impact and the lack of preparation in Foley's descent. Isn't it kind of obvious?!?
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Oh yeah, even Undertaker looking at it had that "oh fuck" look on his face, theres no way that was planned. You could tell that the second time they did that spot it was planned (like the ring falling apart)
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Not even Foley would volunteer himself to get chokeslammed through the cell, and even if he did, no way management would let him do it. Can't push the guy if he's comatose now can you? Not to mention the chair that landed on his face. When I saw it live I though for sure that would be Foley's last match.
Guest deadbeater Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 What happened was that he was supposed to go clean through, like he did vs. HHH a couple of years later. But his leg got caught in it, creating a whiplash effect.
Guest kingkamala Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Alright that last post just crossed the line, get out no seriously GET OUT!
Guest Dames Edna Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 The WWE should have a Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit 60 Min Iron Man Match in the Hell in a Cell. Yes, I would die a happy man.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 I loved the Undertaker vs Undertaker angle too.
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 I liked Taker v. Taker as well. But Bret/Owen was obviously the better match.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I liked Taker v. Taker as well. But Bret/Owen was obviously the better match. It's close though
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 The WWE should have a Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit 60 Min Iron Man Match in the Hell in a Cell. Yes, I would die a happy man. And they would probably just die.

It wasn't supposed to collapse in any way, shape, or form. Foley even says so in his book, Have a Nice Day!.
