I haven't seen the 3rd or 4th films but yes i believe that he is some sort of demon.

Candyman vs. Freddy Kruger

 

Freddy does the mirror trick with a kid that he has control of and Candyman eviscerates the kid. Freddy then attacks Candyman from behind. Candyman spins around and flashes the hook and Freddy replies with "That not a claw...this a claw" then slashes Candyman and runs off. Freddy dresses up as the white woman that got Candyman killed in his real life. Freddy proceeds to torment Candyman's mind till the point that Candyman can't take it anymore and he makes the mistake that gives Freddy the opening to finish him.

Jason plods through the forest while Lepreachun runs around making noises from different direction confusing Jason. Jason is totally confused and looking around like he's lost then Lepreachun attacks and kills Jason with a remote control magic lawn mower with a acid tipped blade.

Michael Myers vs. Pinhead

 

Pinhead being a demon and all could easily dispatch Myers, but he likes to play with his victims. Pinhead sends a demon that's in the image of Michael's sister to Michael that bring him to Pinhead then Pinhead asks him if he knows what pain is. Michael just stares as Pinhead rips him apart with the demonic chains.

Pumpkin Head vs. Tall Man

 

Pumpkin Head stuffs Tall Man into one of the barrels and throws him through the portal. A few minutes later Tall Man and thousands of Dwarves come back through the portal and rips Pumpkin Head apart.

And I know WHO the Tall Man is, I just don't know WHAT he is... I dunno if that makes sense, but I've never actually seen Phantasm, but I bought Wicker Man instead of it at Best Buy the other day, so tonight I'm renting Phantasm on VHS to see if I made the right choice.

Tall Man is... uh... weird. He has a bunch of killer dwarves that look sort of like Jawas, and an endless supply of little flying metal spheres that come equipped with all kinds of nast stabbing weapons.

 

And to all those people who say that Jason would beat Leprachaun, don't you remember, the little guy can ONLY be killed by a four-leaf clover. Jason on the other hand has been stopped with things as mundane as a machete.
