Guest Karnage Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Let's list as many product placements in movies. Dr. Pepper in Spider-Man (If it was a half a second glimpse, it wouldn't be) Playstation 2 Controller in MIB II And I can't think of any more.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Well...Fed Ex in Cast Away Pepsi in Twister...when they needed cans to put that little device together (THEY NEEDED ALL THE CANS THEY COULD FIND!)...the only ones they had were Pepsi
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Happy Gilmour is the king of product placements.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Happy Gilmour is the king of product placements. But the Subway deal was at least very funny...good call
Guest Grenouille Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Happy Gilmour is the king of product placements. I sat through Josie and the Pussycats with my gf at the time. That movie had some kind of add everywhere.
Guest GeneMean Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Wayne's World, although that was essential to the 'sell-out' gag Just about every recent Bond film .. you mean Q actually gets Bond's gadgets from the Sharper Image??
Guest starvenger Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Happy Gilmour is the king of product placements. I dunno - it hasn't helped out the Boston Bruins all that much. Wayne's World was better with their product placements...
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Austin Powers 2 - Heineken. Bothered me to no end.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Demolition Man had Taco Bell as the king of the Fast Food wars...
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Double Team has about 30 Coke machines get blown up at the end, all of them flying towards the camera.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 A loss of Coca Cola would scare the shit out of me
Guest godthedog Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 pepsi in 'fight club'. although they did it with a grain of salt, as there always seemed to be some kind of violent act when a pepsi product was onscreen.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I sat through Josie and the Pussycats with my gf at the time. That movie had some kind of add everywhere. The sad thing is that this movie was so BLATANTLY mocking product placement and corporate brainwashing of the public, but so few people actually GOT it and just said "There was a bunch of product placement". Apparantly the companies themselves either didn't understand it either or else didn't mind. Quite the underrated and subversive movie.

It was marketed as a silly teen movie when in actuality, it was a rather smart little film.
Guest Si82 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Minority Report is full of product placements for just about everything you can think of. And Mr. Nice Guy and The One (I think) blatently advertise Pepsi.
