Guest FeArHaVoC Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 The following news is derived from Dave Scherer and 1Wrestling.com: During his match with Monty Brown, Ron Killings (WWE's former K-Kwik) took a bump that caused a cut on the top of his head. Killings felt numb and dizzy but continued. At one point, the referee asked him if he could continue, and Ron said he could, which allowed him to finish the match with Brown. Ron was scheduled to work another match against Brian Lawler later in the show, but trainers did not allow the match to take place. Killings was a little upset and really wanted to work the match, but TNA enforced the decision to keep him out of the match as a safety precaution. Many backstage at TNA are not considering this a serious injury, as Killings did not likely suffer a concussion. However, accidents do happen in the ring, and keeping him out of the second match was likely for the best.
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 The fact that Killings wanted to work the match speaks volumes about how worthy he is to be holding that title. Hopefully when TNA returns from their brief hiatus he'll be good to go.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 I saw the headline on 411 and thought it said "The Truth" Killed, Not Able To Wrestle I was like "HOLY FUCK!!!" for a second.. *whew*
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I told you he took that bump on his head. Damn. Not that Killings vs. Lawler gets me all pumped...but it would have been another defense for The Truth and he would get that job back from week 2.
Guest TestKick Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I couldn't care less. Killings gives no care to his WORKRATE, and that's why WWE rejected him. Learn to love your work, bud, or get out of the business.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 What? Did you read the post? Not only did he want to go out against doctors orders...but he went on with another 6 or so minutes after being knocked almost unconscious.

Oh, so he's careless about his own condition, and threatening the condition of his fellow workers, just so he can make his few bucks with NWA.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Alright... no one flame him, despite his flamebaiting. That would just lower you to his level. I've gotten 2 emails in the last few hours asking for your banning... You just changed course on your opinion in this thread to try and bait as many people as possible... Your gimmick pisses alot of people off in the WWE folder...and knowing this you've just become worse. That's my defintion of a troll. and I know you've been warned already. so you know what... Goodbye TestKick.
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 WHOO BPS!!! Okay, sorry about that, in other news... this is what TNA is all about. It's like ECW, only with less garbagey wrestling.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I'm not a big fan of Killings even though everyone else is. I have no idea why but hes just not my type of wrestler I guess. But the NWA World title gets way too much pimping, considering the X title is what the fans care about.
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 What exactly was the bump and who would you blame to whose fault it was?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Monty Brown belly to belly on Killings on the outside. Killings head hit the floor hard on the way over. Killings is pretty tall...so it was just an accident... If anything Brown didn't throw him over high enough.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 Guess Killings gets a by on what was a pretty poor title defence outing then - so the jury is still out on whether or not he can pull off a good title matchup.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I think Killings is perfect for the strap. I want to see a Truth/Styles title match or a Truth/Jarrett bout. For the first time I'm excited about the NWA World Title.
