From now on there should be a OaOSD thread and a OaO delayed SD thread

Well, since I often start the Smackdown threads (and haven't these past two weeks because of vacation and having to let my sister use the internet... ::grumbles::), I know I certainly don't mind my LIVE* commentary, even if it is after everyone else's

...damn, that was CLOSE!

Brock's character is that of the Stoppable monster heel with the 5-year old face on a 290-pound body.

Haha, I'm already a long time Shannon Moore mark! :D :D :D

Me too. I liked Shannon (and Helms) since I first saw him in 2000. I was calling for Shannon to be Helms' sidekick last October... glad WWE FINALLY got the hint.

Matt Hardy sounded a bit corny but somehow I'm allured to his developping character. It's more interesting than any of the other SD midcarders.

I am wondering what the hell TestKick was thinking saying Angle/Kidman was a squash. Kidman got a LOT of offense.

Am I the only one disgusted at Brock/Heyman promos? I don't mean don't like them, but literally disguested at them. Paul Heyman is worth so much more than to be stuch with Brocky, seriously. Why can't he get with someone who could benifit from him? As for Brocky, what exactly is his personality/character again?

I only caught the end of the opening promo tonight, but I shudder to think how Brock's promos would be WITHOUT Heyman. I think Brock needed Heyman in the beginning so he could build up to making his own promos (which he's still building up to), but in another month probably won't need him. I agree that Heyman is gold on the mic (I loved his commentary so much), but who else could really benefit from Heyman right now?

Count-out ending? What the heck is that? :P

Nice Angle Slam over the top rope... hey, is it just me, or has Benoit not been doing any Germans of his own lately?

Perhaps that is why I am disgusted at him. :D :D :D

I liked the guy the first time he did run-in's, as I'm a HUGE sucker for the power type of wrestler. I don't know why he isn't clicking with me so far. Maybe if it wasn't for the fact that he's being pushed so damn hard so damn fast, that might be a part of my problem with him also. I still say this though...

I think Brock's character should be an urban personal trainer giving the promo they're showing now ;)

Seriously though, I think he's the kind of bad-ass who never backs down from anyone, even a super-over, "super-tough" guy like Rocky. He really is the WWE's Biggest Thing, and he knows it.

I personally feel that Heyman should be the leader of Benoit/Eddie & Rhyno when he returns, or simply be the leader of an ECW stable. I just don't feel any chemistry between Brock/Heyman at all, period. Believe it or not, I sincerely feel that chemistry between a manager and his wrestler, is almost as important as the chemistry inside the ring. If a manager doesn't have that chemistry with his wrestler, it just comes off as uncomfortable, sorta like Brock/Heyman.

I just think Heyman is being wasted right now, and I feel that they have TOTALLY taken Brock down the wrong path to start his career, sorta how they did with The Rock way back in the day. This is totally NOT what Brock's character should be, and it shows in my view.

That is the only reason I am hating him. When he came in started squashing the Hardy's it was like that was cool as hell, but then all of a sudden he is in the KOTR tourney and you know he is going to win and then the God Push begins and turns me off to him entirely.

Maybe if he joined the UN-Americans to extol the virtues of Finland I might get into his character though. :D

From where I sit, Brock has talent, period. We all know that he is agile as hell, and can be a high flyer. I feel that Brock should be promoted as "The New Breed of Superstar". The kind of guy who is strong as hell, yet can work the mat, PLUS fly in the air off the top rope. If they want to get them over, THAT is what must be done in my view. Put him in a program with Kurt Angle, let them go all out working the mat, etc... Let Angle go for his GREAT Moonsault, let Lesnar go for his SSP.

I'm telling you, if they want to get Brock Lesnar truly over, that is the way, hell, build up Kurt Angle along with him...

Heh. I loved it when he'd destroy the Hardys over and over. LOVED it.

Thing is, WWE wants him to start the wave of the future with all those promos, but they don't seem to want him to be booked strongly against their babyfaces for fear of them losing an ounce of heat or something. He only beat Rikishi last week because Rikishi was distracted by sticking his ass in Heyman's face. On Monday, HBK got him flustered as hell by a superkick. Then there was the RAW after KOTR and Vengeance where both times he was about to be pinned if Heyman didn't interfere. It's totally counter-productive.

I don't think Benoit needs Heyman as a mouthpiece now that he's teamed up with Guerrero and they're taking it to top guys and main-eventing.

I understand what you're saying about managers and managees having to have chemistry, and although it's not strong between Heyman and Brock, it's not totally non-existent. In terms of Heyman's character, remember back in RAW in Philly when Tommy Dreamer said something to the effect that Heyman was really only in ECW and all the other personalities he "created" until it's popular for his own gains, and then basically throws it away.

Watching the replay of what happened last week (something about Rikishi giving Heyman a stink face?), what bothers me about Brock right now is that they're giving him the super-push, but still letting him be treated like a bitch. Superkick from Rikishi? This is the same Rikishi that Brock F-5'ed to show his strength in one of his first appearances... Superkick from HBK? He's "a cripple who can't wrestle"... it's little things like that, that show they don't seem to trust Brock enough to go full-on with him with anything. I think if he was still KO'ing people with F-5's he would've been SUPER OVER by now, but the WWE didn't want to go full-on with that, just like now they have him taking bumps from "weaker characters" because they don't even want to go full-on with him as an unstoppable champion.

In other news... Rikishi getting a pop? I sure as hell hope that's piped in. Good to see Batista & D-Von are furthering their split though... no, by goodness no, not the Stinkface! Groan... whew! D-Von saves it!

Memo to John Cena: Get some better tights, dude.

Funny thing is, Cena said in RAW magazine that he has 90-something pairs of tights. I wonder if they're all in that "questionable" style?

Stinkface to D-Von? Isn't that sacrilegous? :(

This is true, yet you can say the same things about Mike Awesome (the WWE even uses him as such, in a limited nature of course, but Awesome still does some high-flying stuff). I think the problem is the "WWE style" again... Brock'd either have to be an all-out powerhouse like now, or an all-out high flyer. You can't be both, and since the powerhouse monster is "safer", that's what they decided to do with him.

Man... I wish I was that old man Knoble & Knidia ran into...

I actually don't mind the blue ones too much. The yellow and green ones are a terrible sight though.

I wonder if all 90 pairs are the same short with a stripe down the side style. If so he better hope he has a small fire in his house that engulfs his wardrobe, because the style all together is horrible not just the colors.

I like how they let that young up an comer Kurt Angle take that grizzled multi time world champion Billy Kidman to the limit before putting Angle back in his place.

I like Nidia getting in a lot of quick, "cheap" pinfall attempts. I can see her as a "cheat to win" or "Honky Tonk Man"-ish women's heel. Then again, she wanted to bare her breasts, in WWE terms that makes her a face... <_<

MC: Nidia's Raw talent taking it to Molly in this match...

Tazz: Where are you getting these words? "RAW talent"... she's Smackdown!

Damn, is it main event time already? Smackdown seems to fly by!

Hey, don't forget Billy Kidman was an UNDEFEATED* CHAMPION! I'd rather see a more even match like what was presented than a straight squash either way. I think the reason that they let Kidman do so much was to give fans and possibly doubters "a taste" of how Angle can indeed work with cruiserweights like Mysterio. It's all about the build-up... I'd be more pissed about the lame ending than the rest of the match.

I'd like to see Kurt Angle cleanly go over a guy that almost everyone else in the god damned company has beaten, but alas, it's funnier to keep Angle on a huge losing streak.

Yes, you can say it about Mike Awesome as well, there are more that fit this also. I feel they should groom all of these guys, along with the likes of Kurt Angle, as "The NEW Breed of Superstar". You know, something different, something new, something fresh, something outside the box of said current WWE style. That would do wonders to get these "new guys" truly over.

I agree fully, and I think if the ratings were less stable and business kept dropping they'd be more apt to "risk it", but from the WWE's viewpoint, the guys'll draw the same no matter how they wrestle, so why bother?

I think they're starting to get the hint of people wanting something new though... especially with Rey Mysterio's apparent popularity and the relative disinterest in the HBK/HHH match.
