How is boston public on there?

That is like the best show on tv, the only thing i can think is the fact they deal with reality!

WTF is wrong with a show not hiding away from real issues how is that DETRIMENTAL to the youth of today!

FUCK i hate the PTC!

GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASSES!!!

Um...to better understand their stance on Boston Public...well just picture bible thumping Christians watching it.

Yes i'm sure you can see why they wouldn't like the show.

And give me a break Boston Public is NOT reality.

As lethagic said these people aren't looking at quality. And all the shows on the "worst of" list other then C.S.I have stuff that would offend die hard Christians.

Didn't they used to have/still have Alf, or is that another station?

Oops, I forgot. I'm sure The Man Show was #11 on the Best Show List...

No Alf is on some other channel i believe.

I don't know where The Man Show stands with PTC but probably not that high on the "worst of" list since the Bible treats women like slaves.

But i guarantee it would be at the top of the list if the Oxygen Network did a list like this. Oxygen is the channel owned by Oprah and i doubt that Oprah understands that The Man Show is a parody of the way men are.

The PTC has released their official "Best and Worst of TV" list that includes the top 10 best and worst shows on TV:

BEST

1. Doc (PAX)

2. Touched by an Angel (CBS)

3. Sabrina the Teenage Witch (WB)

4. 7th Heaven (WB)

5. Baby Bob (CBS)

6. Smallville (WB)

7. Reba (WB)

8. The Ponderosa (Pax)

9. George Lopez (ABC)

10. Bernie Mac (Fox)

WORST

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (UPN)

2. Off Centre (WB)

3. Will & Grace (NBC)

4. Friends (NBC)

5. WWE Smackdown! (UPN)

6. Big Brother II (CBS)

7. C.S.I. (CBS)

8. Temptation Island II (Fox)

9. That 70s Show (Fox)

10. Boston Public (Fox)

Please. Will & Grace, Friends, Boston Public, That 70's Show and SmackDown! (which is very toned down) don't belong on that list. I don't really feel like going into why they don't belong there at this moment, but the rest of you can feel free to do so.

:)

Wait a sec.....

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch...as in WITCHCRAFT being practiced on the show...

I hate screwed up priorities.

I guess Christians are ok with witchcraft as long as it isn't black magic witchcraft?

The difference between a show like Sabrina and Buffy is that Buffy talks about sex, has lesbians, violence, black magic witchcraft and has "evil" demons.

Sabrina while having witchcraft isn't about the evil black magic and is still a "wholesome kid friendly show with morals" which is what PTC is looking for

compared to knowing about all the shows on their Bottom 10 sans one (Off Centre, which I'm assuming is relatively new.)

It's a new WB show (new last season, actually) by the Wirtz brothers, who also directed American Pie...that should give you some idea. The guy who played Finch in AP is in it.

The one show I saw had everyone finding out about the Finch character's stash of nurse porn. Yeah, I can see where the PTC might have a problem.

Still seems contradictory to me.

Bernie Mac, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Will & Grace, Friends, Smackdown! C.S.I., and Boston Public are the ones I watch...and that is basically all I watch on television period.

Thanks for the laugh, Retro. PTC is pathetic.

Here's the deal with the PTC and shows like RAW, South Park, Man Show, etc... the PTC only takes into account stuff that goes over the airwaves (no cable at all) Pax is readily available on cable but it does have over-the-air affiliates, so it counts as a network. That's why when the PTC was going all out against WWE, they only talked about SmackDown! because it was over the public airwaves, not cable which is privately owned and an opt-in (ie: pay) service.

As far as things like NYPD Blue not being on the list, I believe they are only concerned with the hours from 8 - 10 PM (maybe 7 - 10 pm) which is considered "family time" because by 10 the kids are supposed to be in bed. Except on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney they all show kids shows until 11 or later.

So much for that theory, eh, Brent?

Well I only watch 3 of the shows on the list (Smallville, SD!, and That 70's Show) and 1 is on the good list. What ever the PTC is useless now, they had to apologize to WWF and have no more influence.

What was the agreement made by the PTC and WWE? I thought that they couldn't talk about WWE programming anymore, but I may be totally wrong.

I;m not sure exactly but I think they can't talk shit about WWF anymore and had/have to apologize for their slander. PTC really did go way too far with their accusations.

Actually, PAX is a broadcast network, it runs on a lot of former HSN affiliates or former religious stations, stations owned by Bud Paxson. Example: in Chicago, what was formerly WCFC-38 (Winning Chicago For Christ...I love how the call letters for all my TV stations have meanings) is now WCPX-38 (Chicago Paxson) and carries the PAX network over the air. I miss the old Crazy Christian Channel though and now I have to settle for picking up WVCY-30 from Milwaukee (Wisconsin's Voice of Christian Youth, even though all the hosts have an average age of 65)
