WCW Saturday Night "Locker Room" matches

Recommended Posts

Guest Your Olympic Hero1

I remember when I first started watching wrestling in 1993-1994, WCW Saturday Night used to have "locker room" matches.  They had like the green locker room which was the heels, and the blue locker room which was the faces.  You called a 900-number (obviously) to vote for which heel and which face you wanted to see in the main event at the end of the show.  Then again, maybee this was on WCW Main Event on Sunday nights.  Anyway, were the results to the fan-voting rigged, or were they legit.  I remember Sting used to constantly win when he was in the blue locker room.

I think they were rigged. WCW probably wanted to make a quick buck from the call-in votes. I would assume WCW knew Sting would win, so they stuck him in the match with the heel he was feuding with. WCW did the "Live-interactive" show once on Nitro (Sting won from the faces, and Flair won from the heels). I belive Sting won every "Live-interactive" show.

I remember that sometimes that sometimes a heel would go into the faces locker room and chaos would just begin and tons of people would have to seperate a few guys.

Thanks.

How about the summer of 2000, when Booker T was WCW champ and on Nitro they had a call-in vote as to who he would face that night.  Sting won, but he was taken out by Goldberg (during his horrible heel run) who then took the match with Booker and actually lost clean to Booker.

I remember that match. Goldberg did "the Hogan kick out". After Booker T pinned him, right after the count of 3, Goldberg kicked out. As a side note, I belive Sting won all the call-in shows.

As well he should have. All the ten year olds sneaking off to the phone without parental permission would have approved.

You had to be over 18 to call or have your parents permission. The 20 yr olds were safe.

I know u had to be 18 or over to call but I was just saying I bet a bunch of the votes from Sting where from 20 year old guy marks and 40 year old women who thought Sting was hot,it wasn't all the kids who dialed 1-900-909-9900 and voted for the Stinger!!!

Thanks.

I can belive the 40 yr old women calling. WCW had a lot of old women watching their shows.

I didn't say that sarcasticly. As you know, WCW had a lot of older women watching. I remember watching an E! special on the war between the WWF & WCW. The women fans they interview in WCW were old, while the women fans of the WWF were young. See there's still a use for Hogan. :)

Yeah,I don't know why that is true but it just is.By the way I know this is off the topic but since I found that picture of the old WCW Saturday Night entrance set from 1993 I keep having dreams of me coming out of there. It's not all good though, the other night I had a dream I was wrestling on WCW Saturday Night because someone did a no show but I got the match and a push because I was Dusty Rhode's son!!!

Thanks.

Yes Dusty Rhodes was my father,UGH!!!Well I teamed up with Dustin Rhodes and we took on Tom Zenk and Johnny Gunn.It makes sense that it was Zenk and Gunn because they were the 2 in the picture.

Thanks.
