Continuous, continuous, continuous baseball highlights?

I can't believe how much ESPN shoves NBA and Major League baseball down our throats. It's frustrating because it seems like my favorite sports get the backseat treatment.

I mean, it's like ESPN either doesn't know or doesn't want to believe that there is going to be a strike.

Well...it is the time of the year when baseball is the only major american sport in season so there isn't much else to cover in the world of sports for now.

And there's a point in the year when Basketball is the only major american sport in season so there's not much else to cover besides hockey which gets a short segment. But hockey has a smaller fan base so it makes sense that it gets a shorter segment time.

There's also a point where Football is almost the only thing that Sportscenter covers.

What do you expect them to cover? They showed NFL preseason stuff for a bit, showed some WNBA for whatever reason, showed some world league basketball highlights, and filled the rest with baseball. What else was there to cover?

Gee, baseball highlights, during the baseball season. Honestly, who cares about preseason football results? There's no basketball news, no hockey news, golf's only during weekends.....what else is there to cover? Soon they'll doubtless shove football down our throats.

Especially now that ESPN is showing the NBA. It's going to be worse than before.

Thank god I'm moving to Canada-

All hockey all the time!

Damn right. Hell, off-season hockey news is usually the lead story on SportsCentre up here.

Well, at least it'll be a sport that people care about that'll be shoved down our throat. I mean, if I see another highlight of a Barry Bonds at-bat I might puke.

the only time baseball is first in the news is either

A) Some one from baseball dies

B) Beginning of the season

C) Playoffs

but when hockey season starts, baseball's time goes down.

God i love canada

Sometimes I wish I lived in Canada. Football will be shoved down my throat until basketball starts, then I stop watching SportsCenter because they have Stuart Scott on there, and he's about as exciting to listen to as a cat in a blender. "Yo, Kid Jay Williams, off tha Heezay!" What the fuck does that mean?!!?!?!?!?!?!?! Hockey is treated like a joke, they mention it in the same smug term that they use when they're doing World League football or something. Argh!

I think it is "off the hizzy" and means "off the hook" i.e. "he's really good." Gotta love Carney Ebonics. :)

I really don't have a beef with SportsCenter for the most part although the constant Lust for Tiger Woods is sick.

I am also kind of disgusted by the way Stuart Scott trys to use slang from rap songs

if baseball goes on strike does that mean that college football will get the majority of the highlights? With the constant arguement of is the BCS or playoffs a better choice for the national title.

raza, college football will get more highlights than the rest of the baseball regular season. Then, the first few games of the postseason for baseball will be showcased, but then it'll be College Football, BasketBall, and NFL highlights ga-fucking-lore. I hate ESPN sometimes.

Anyone know with the debut of the NBA on ESPN if we're still going to have Wednesday Night Hockey? Or are they going to play a basketball game everynight?
