Guest notJames Report post Posted August 23, 2002 I don't think they'll start with Edge/Eddie. I'm thinking they'll start with Benoit/RVD first, since they seem to like starting the PPVs with Mr. PPV as of late. They get the crowd into it early, etc. Eddie/Edge will probably be after that. Perhaps an Eddie run-in on the IC match will prompt Edge to make the save and kick start their match proper. (Just putting my Heyman hat on...) Or... The tag title match will start the show, since tag matches often get the crowd pumped easily, what with the hot tag scenarios and what not. Or the tag match will be bookended (no pun intended) by the Kliq match and the Brock/Rock match. Everything else is pretty much a toss-up. Although the UT/Test match will no doubt be designated the popcorn match somewhere in the middle, possibly after Kurt/Rey Rey. Sigh... no true cruiser match. Maybe Trips will get injured beforehand or HBK will have second thoughts, thus an impromptu 20-minute TajiriChavo/2-Count tag match will ensue. Keep them fingers crossed... Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted August 23, 2002 RVD - Benoit might open, the IC belt opens alot
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted August 23, 2002 RVD opens a lot, not the Intercontinental title. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 23, 2002 They should just add Noble to the card.
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted August 23, 2002 Unfortunately, Noble's at the World on Sunday. I would have added a fourway for the Cruiser title, based on the Velocity tag match where Funaki got the win. Noble, Kidman, Funaki, and Tajiri could tear the house down, and it could be a hot opener. But, it's not to be. Jason

Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 Could it HURT them to use some of their cruisers to open up the show? I could SO see Hurricane/Moore vs. Tajiri/Chavo, or even throw Matt Hardy and Funaki in there for the six-man tag.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 24, 2002 That would'nt make sense since Tajiri has been buddy buddy with Noble. Eddy v. Edge should be a very good opener
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted August 24, 2002 It's a weird card because almost every match seems to have a sort of 'upper card' status.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 24, 2002 1. Rey v Kurt 2. UnAmericans v. Booker/Goldust 3. Eddy v Edge 4. Jericho v Flair 5. Benoit v RVD 6. UT v. Test 7. Michaels v. HHH 8. Brock v. Rock
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted August 24, 2002 Edge? Open the show? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
Guest JaKyL25 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 Your Olympic Hero is correct, every match DOES seem a little uppercard. Every match on the card, with the exception of Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero, has at least ONE former World Champion (WWF or WCW) as a participant. And that match was added last, so for awhile when there were 7 matches announced, EVERY match had a former World Champion involved. My predicted order: (Former Champs in Bold, just for the hell of it) Booker T/Goldust vs. Storm/Christian Kurt Angle vs. Rey Misterio Ric Flair vs. Chris Jericho Eddie Guerrero vs. Edge The Undertaker vs. Test Chris Benoit vs. Rob Van Dam Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 24, 2002 I wouldn't be surprised if they add Matt vs. Knoble or something like that along the lines of Moore's pin=Matt's title shot.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 24, 2002 I wouldn't be surprised if they add Matt vs. Knoble or something like that along the lines of Moore's pin=Matt's title shot. It'll probably be on Heat.

Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 1. Benoit v. RVD 2. Eddy v. Edge 3. UnAmericans v. BookerDust 4. Rey v. Kurt 5. Undertaker v. Test 6. Brock v. Rock 7. Jericho v. Flair 8. HHH v. HBK face it.. HHH's massive ego and HBK going over will cause their match to be the main event. Brock going over at the end of the show would make too much sense and do something for him, so they won't do that either. Not to mention it's a heel going over at the end of the show. Brock's win is only gonna end the show if he wins and then the Rock punks him out again. Jericho-Flair is #7 since Jericho is going over and that will quiet the crowd down more before the ME. How the show will go which who goes over 1- heel 2- heel 3- face 4- heel 5- face 6- heel 7- heel 8- face

Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted August 24, 2002 UnAmericans vs. Bookdust RVD vs. Benoit Kurt Angle vs. Rey Rey Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero Chris Jericho vs. Flair HHH vs. HBK Test vs. UT Brock vs. Rock WWE logic states that they start the night with a bang to get the crowd into it. But, WWE logic also states that they must ALWAYS kill the crowd right before the main event.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 24, 2002 No, Rock/Brock must end the show, because when Brock gets the Mabel reaction, the ring will be full of trash.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2002 We all know WWE philosphy of Leaving the fans Happy...Which means Faces go over in the main.
Guest Cubbie78 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 Yeah, when was the last time a heel went over in the main?...Im sure its recent, but it doesnt happen to often, and since this is the second beiggest show of the year (maybe why all the matches seem to have that "uppercard/main event" feel about them) I think they will send the fans home happy...so, if Rock/Brock is last, Rock wins
Guest Cubbie78 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 although, granted it would be pretty cool if brock won the main and the ring gets pelted with garbage, fans booing out of their ass...maybe that would finally say MISTAKE to McMahon
