Just when you think they cannot top themselves, they do. Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles wrestled over fifty minutes last Wednesday night. They proved once again that they are possibly the two most well conditioned and exciting athletes in the sport today.

The Triple Threat Triple Ladder match that headlines this Wednesday night's TNA show was simply amazing. Low Ki defends against AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn. The match topped off an incredible show. The way they integrated three different ladders into the match was beyond innovative. Genius may be a better description. Add this bout to the four "Match of the Year" candidates they have already been involved in.

Speaking of "Match of the Year" candidates, TNA is eleven weeks old, and has offered at least four matches that wrestling journalists have put in the running for this great honor. Hats off to the X-Division talent featured in these very entertaining wrestling matches.

"NWA TNA: SPECIAL X" will air on September 4th. More details on this special next week. If you are a fan of the X-Division, this one is a can't miss.

Ron Killings suffered an injury during his match with Monty Brown. I talked with the champ this morning and he still has a stiff neck, but no longer is feeling the dizzy spells. He is going to take some time to recover, but is not expected to miss any appearances in TNA. Hats off to Killings for being able to pull off a great promo later in the night, even after the injury.

Ed Ferrara's departure raised some eyebrows. Many are trying to read something more into it, associating some past possible conflicts with Vince Russo. Sorry conspiracy theorists, not the case. Ferrara is a great friend of TNA, and will always be. We wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors.

Management was pleased with the Backseat Boys. Expect to see them back, possibly in the upcoming Tag Team Gauntlet for the Gold on September 18th.

Don West's has shown incredible improvement since joining, and is gaining a cult following fast. Don's genuine excitement for the product translates well to television, and has been fun to watch.

Speaking of announcers, I will go on record as saying I think Mike Tenay is the best wrestling announcer in the business right now. As someone who has sat behind that table a few times before, I can honestly tell you that I often sit back and listen to him in amazement. No one can touch his knowledge of the sport, his meticulous research on the performers he is calling, and his overall credibility both inside and outside of the business. I believe the vast difference in workplace environments between TNA and WCW has allowed Tenay to be much more comfortable behind the mic, and has brought out the best in his abilities.

Read into this what you will: Old School may be coming back.

Had a chance to see a copy of Total Wrestling, the new magazine Bill Apter is working with. There are some great features on TNA wrestlers this month. They do a great job.

Expect Mortimer Plumtree to return to your television sets soon. He is a great manager, and a very intelligent person. Plumtree has relocated to the area, and will be working in the TNA offices.

With all of the work we had to get done before the show, this week's TNA production meeting moved quite quickly. Maybe it was something to do with Bill Behrens coming down with laryngitis.

Merle Hamburger, who some of you may remember from the Wrestling Radio days, has been helping with the website and has captured some great photographs of this last Wednesday night that will be up soon on nwatna.com.

The story behind the man in the Bullet mask will take some interesting turns.

TNA is in talks with Japanese stars Ikuto Hidaka and Dick Togo for some upcoming appearances in the X-Division.

Kid Kash and the Amazing Red kick off this week's TNA. Add Monty Brown vs. Sonny Siaki, SATs vs. Estrada and Yang, Miss TNA vs. April Hunter, and a four team elimination match to earn the final entry spot in the Gauntlet for the Gold between Harris & Storm, The Hots Shots, Slash & Kobain, and the Backseat Boys. The main event is the triple ladder match between Low Ki, AJ Styles, and Jerry Lynn.

Kobain is the former Flash Flanagan, and will be introduced as the newest member of the Disciples of the New Church.

I had my ten-year high school class reunion last weekend in Minneapolis. I must say that my involvement in the wrestling business was a pretty hot topic of conversation with fellow alumni. I wasn't voted "most likely to get nailed in the balls by a midget on pay-per-view," so a few people were quite surprised to hear what became of ol' Borash. That is, until a nerdy fat kid in our class showed up making the claim that since graduation, he has gone on to be Wisconsin's #1 pornographer. I couldn't top that story.

Have a great weekend, and we will see you Wednesday night!

I agree. Old School is Cornio. Maybe he'll be revealed as the guy under the mask.

I'd love it if they had Corino/Truth.

I really hope it's not Road Dogg or someone under that mask. And I'd mark out like there's no tomorrow if they are carrying out the "mask" angle so that they can put Sanders under the hood.

Yeah, I know I talk about him a lot, but I really can't wait to see the guy getting another shot at the big time.

I'm actually hoping it will be the Road Dogg under daddies mask. I have missed him since his last WWF run.

I also have to say that I agree with the comments regarding Don West too. He doesn't have a lot of knowledge but he does have a certain excitment about him that makes him watchable.
