I'd give them a very long jail sentence, but I'm not familiar with how Scotland's law deals with people of their ages. Whatever the most severe punishment is is what they deserve.

As far as I know they can only be charged as juvenilles.

 

This is something that I have seen an upswing in recently, especially in Northern Ireland where I live. Ive heard of kids as young as ten throwing concrete blocks off bridges onto passing cars and you routinely hear of kids as young as 12 being shot in the legs by paramilitarys for offences ranging from joyriding to drug dealing.

 

I think its come to the point were we must take a look at how we treat and judge children involved in crime.

 

We simply can't look at them as poor wee dears who have been led astray, these are children who have only seen crime and violence through heir entire lives.

 

But how do we solve this, I have no idea.

That paragraph right there takes away quite a bit of sympathy in my eyes, considering there were only four teenage girls, and he was a full-grown man. There's no reason he couldn't at least overpower them, unless he's a class-a sissy. I'd have beat those bitches bloody and gone to jail for assault.

 

As far as what to do about it...geez.. I guess just send them through whatever their courts decide in a situation like that. Assault and battery, theft, etc..

I seriously doubt you guys would kick the shit out of a bunch of teenage girls if they attacked you. Besides, in like 5 billion Steve Austin threads everyone has lambasted him for daring to hit a woman. This guy was right for not fighting back, in that he would have gone to jail for beating up some teenage girls. Unfortunately for him, a bunch of people decided to watch this happen instead of do anything about it.

I'd say give em the max they can get under the law, but since they're juveniles they'll probably just get a slap on the wrist. Which is one of many reasons why this article is so sad.

He didn't have to beat them up, but at least just knock them down or something, let them know he wasn't a friggin' victim. He had a right to defend himself when being attacked, but didn't. If he would've he wouldn't be in the state he's in, unless he tried defending himself but still got whipped, at which point he's a weakling, and maybe deserving of SOME sympathy. In my case, I DEFINITELY would've defended myself from a bunch of people attacking me, male or female. Not to say, I'd run them down as they fled in terror only to beat them worse, but one or more of them would've gotten tagged pretty fiercely. At any rate, they'd reconsider their choice of victim. Especially if I had witness saying they attacked me
