Guest redbaron51 Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 I'm just wondering if anybody likes Soccer here (true football). Anywho my favourite team is Chelsea FC in the English Premier League
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 I don't follow "soccer" but if I'm channel surfing and it's on TV then I'll watch it. Played 13 seasons of it as a kid, and I don't care what anyone says it's a violent, violent game. Can't wait for the upcoming World Cup.
Guest Choken One Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Like to play it...Hate to watch it.
Guest y2chris21 Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Football is F'n great !!! It an amazing sport, easily the most entertaining team sport. No breaks all 5 sec. (Am. Football), not the same moves all the time (BBall; How cool is it to watch 50 slam dunks per match???) etc.. I personally absolutely enjoy to play it and to watch it. My favorite team is Bayer Leverkusen from germany although I live in Munich. I also love to watch games from the premier league, seria A and the primera division.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 No. Soccer isn't a sport. I had a whole rant on this...but I'm too tired to find it. I'll just stick with no.
Guest Anorak Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Football's the best sport in the world, i love playing and watching it. Football has more popularity and cultural influence throughout the world than any other competitive sport. There is no sport which people are more passionate about all over the world, it means so much to so many people. I support my local team Leicester City, who are currently rock bottom of the English Premier Division and are certain to get relegated come May. We are basically the laughing stock of the nation at the moment as far as football goes with everyone poking fun at us. I watch any football i can, i caught the recent African Nations Cup and i follow the European game quite closely so i especially enjoy the Champions League. The country comes to a standstill when the national team has an important game, football often dominates the main news as well as the sports news here for one reason or another, good or bad. The English Premier League is watched by hundreds of millions of people as far away as Asia and Australia. I play myself for a side in a local adult league, my position is goalkeeper but the terrible weather recently has meant loads of cancelled games. If any fellow football fans want to talk more then keep posting stuff between now and the World Cup, i usually skip this folder because it's all American sports and it would be nice to talk about something i know more about.
Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Soccer isn't a sport. I had a whole rant on this...but I'm too tired to find it.Go find your rant. I'm interested to see how THAT viewpoint could be defended. Actually, I'm more looking forward to ripping it apart.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Leicester. HAHAHAHAHA. Thats what appens when u let Martin O'Neill go. Respect the Chelsea
Guest Scotsman Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Rangers. We're gonna fuck Feyenoord on Thursday.
Guest Anorak Posted February 27, 2002 Report Posted February 27, 2002 I think Leicester have won about 4 matches in the last 12 months or so, that's so pathetic it's not even funny.
Guest Steveweiser Posted February 27, 2002 Report Posted February 27, 2002 My favourite team is Arsenal of the English Premier League, currently 3rd in the table and hard on the chase for the EPL Title with a game in hand on the leaders. We're also doing well in the European Champions League, we have a game tonight against Y2Chris21's favourite team Bayer Leverkusen and we're confident of thrashing them tonight, one more win after that against Deportivo La Coruna from the Spanish League, and we'll be in the quarter finals. Nice.
Guest redbaron51 Posted February 27, 2002 Report Posted February 27, 2002 What another Chelsea fan?!!??! and I thought I was the only one...
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 man united for me (i know, but when you start following something, you automatically pick a winner:)) btw, anyone play fantasy soccer (england) on yahoo?
Guest Zoltan Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 My favorite team is Bayer Munich with my 2 favorites on the team are Janker and Kahn. Their win over Valencia in the finals was brutal, into pentalty kicks. They deserved it because of what happened to them in 1999 ( everyone who watches soccer knows). But I felt sorry for Valencia because they have lost in the finals now 2 years in a row.
Guest pearljamfan Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 I just started following soccer since about the 98 World Cup. Favorite teams are Manchester United and Celtic.. fuck you Scotsman... rangers hahahahaha INFERIOR!! As far as the World Cup 2002 goes im goin for England
Guest Anorak Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 England have to get out of the 'group of death' first. Some of the other fancied teams have really easy groups in comparison. I dont think any team derserves to be favourites coming into it as there isn't an awful lot to choose between the top European & South American sides. Italy could be a decent bet this summer, they have only lost on penalties in the last three world cups (2 semis & 94 final). Did anyone see the own goal the Leicester defender scored this weekend in the premiership? God, it just gets more pathetic and depressing by the week!
Guest The Internet Buzzsaw Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Rangers, I have been supporting them since I could kick a Football around with my Dad. Must resist urge to rip celtic fan a new asshole...
Guest kennycurran Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Hmmm, how are you gonna rip a celtic fan a new asshole? Would you slag him over the fact that they are a far superior team to rangers? That they have possibly the best manager in Britain? That they are a far bigger cub? That they were the first british club to wn the Eurpean Cup? Just wondering. Just for the record, i support Liverpool in England, Celtic in Scotland(shock horror) and Shelbourne in Ireland. And I cant wait for the World cup, so i get to see England getting sent home in the first round as Ireland march on to at least the 1/4 finals. With Keano leading the way!!! OLE OLE OLE OLE.... IRELAND IRELAND I say OH AH GARY BREEN I say OH AH GARY BREEN
Guest skyhigh Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Can't wait for the Old Firm match on Sunday. The Celts are going to piss over the huns. Another title is coming home to Paradise. Plus the noon kick off gives us Celtic fans all day to celebrate victory over Rangers. After watching Liverpool walk over Newcastle tonight I'm pretty confident the mighty Reds can win the Premier League. All I need now is for Barcelona to show some damn consistency and my fav teams could be walking off with their league titles. IRELAND FOR THE WORLD CUP
