Guest razazteca Report post Posted February 24, 2002 the only NWA show that I current get is the Wildside, and NWA Southwest shows, but I remember some of the Nashville and Memphis show a few years ago like Music City. Speaking of Bert Brenice has his shows gotten any better since Music City? I also remember Bert doing a World Wide edition of NWA which showed mostly the Nashville region and had the Severn vs Ogawa title match from Japan awhile back. Is the NWA East the best? Can the NWA put a nationtal televised cable show, does the NWA have enough talent to put on such a show?
Guest nwawildsidemark Report post Posted February 24, 2002 although the smarts in TENN knock him alot, I love bert prentice's tv shows-he has some hard workers and a future superstar in chris harris. The production value of the tv show is top notch and he just added jim cornette and scott hudson on the commentary team. His promotion is second only to the NWA WILDSIDE(georgia) in terms of who's the best part of the NWA.
Guest yoshihiromwt Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Wildside is by far the best promotion in the NWA group. Behrens was screwed out of the NWA presidency because he's one of Howard Brody's friends. (P.S.: Mike Porter is the NWA promoter in Tennessee now, not Prentice.) Guest razazteca Report post Posted February 24, 2002 so who are the stars of new Brenice promotion? All I could remember from the Music City days: Billy Joe Travis Flash Flannagan tag team of Dunn&Doll = Tennessee Vols? Colorado Kid if Cornett and Hudson are there it has to be somewhat good, right? The one thing I don't like about the Wildside is that it cuts to the matches during progress, leaving out the intros, it looks ok for an indy. AJ Styles would be a good addition to the WWF if he can work with the Hardys and RVD or the Canadians
Guest yoshihiromwt Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Bert's promotion, USA Championship Wrestling, is currently using Chris Harris (NA Champion), Jerry Lawler, Doug Gilbert, Larry Zbyszko, & David Flair as the top guys in the promotion. Bert's promised that RIC FLAIR is coming in to help his son against Jerry Lawler soon. A lot of the OVW guys work there too, since Corny is working as a commentator. A couple of Bert's "flavors of the week" within the past couple of months include Sal Del Rio (yes, NWA Wildside's Sal Del Rio was pushed as a sex symbol) and "The Tennessee Cowboy" James Storm. Storm is taking a break from wrestling soon, and Sal has already left USA. David Young brought up on his website that him & A.J. are doing a match in Bert's group soon. That will be amazing to watch: A.J. Styles vs. David Young with Corny & Hudson on commentary. If there's anything that I got incorrect or missed completely, Jingus will correct me. He and Trent Van Drisse are the most infamous of the Nashville smarts. (P.S.: Cornette & Hudson are AWESOME on commentary. I get the America One feed, so I just watched the debut show with Cornette & Hudson tonight.) Cornette: I hope you got that sympathy card that I sent you. Hudson: Huh? Cornette: Your personality died.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Yoshi mentioned most of the important parts. Brian Christopher, Terry Taylor, and Tommy Rich are working on-&-off with USA also. Colorado Kid is still there, but he works under his real name of Mike Rapada. The promotion is a lot better now than it has been in a while, Cornette & Hudson's commentary helps out a great deal. But of the NWA shows I've seen (haven't been many, but anyway), Wildside is easily the best.
Guest WIAHist Report post Posted February 28, 2002 NWA Wildside and NWA Southwest are the best promotions in the NWA right now because of the talent and TV (America One) they have right now. But, don't overlook some of the smaller NWA territories like NWA East in Pittsburgh and NWA PNW in Vancouver. There's some great action there, too. NWA Tri-States (formerly NWA West Virginia/Ohio) seems to be promising as well as NWA Hawaii and NWA CWF in Winnipeg.
