Guest kingkamala Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 Everybody has at least one indy fed in your area so I'll get to mine... EWA(Maine version)- A decent little fed with a decent talent roster and a small but solid fan base. Heavyweight champion is a guy by the name of Adam Booker who's a pretty good wrestler but isn't the most popular guy on the roster which affects his position as Number One face. The top heel is former WCW jobber Rick Fuller who despite doing a pretty vicious heel turn on Booker is the third or fourth most over baby face on the roster. The heel roster is pretty good with two dominant stables(The Hardcore Institute and a stable run by a former WWF jobber Alexander Worthington III) but the face roster is pretty lackluster with a bunch of guys the fans don't really give a crap about. Overall I'd give EWA a solid C+ Rampage Pro Wrestling-Don't know much about this one but heard it pretty much uses the same guys as EWA and once in a while brings in guys like Jimmy Snuka and the Bushwhackers. As about as big of fanbase as EWA if not a bit smaller. From what I hear I'd give it a C Atlas Wrestling Championship- Fed run by Tony Atlas that features a lot of untalented no names, a former female prospect Amanda Storm and is usually main evented by her or former WCW jobbers the Power Company, Atlas himself never wrestlers or even appears on the shows. Shows are usually poorly attended, I'd give this fed a D
Guest TheRockIsTheEuropeanChampion Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 How could I find out where the indies are around here (SLC)? I didn't think Maine would have any good indies, but there they are. EWA sounds pretty cool, but I'm a Rick Fuller mark...
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 I'm only listing the main one... IWF, the Insane Wrestling Federation (formally Insane Championship Wrestling) Regulars include: Sabu (champ) CM Punk Colt Cabana Corporal Robinson Madman Pondo Mr Insanity Steve Nixon (Michigan's cruiserweight legend) 2 Tuff Tony Cash Flo Yukon Braxton (Michigan's finest) Chris Hero Chuck E Smooth Chris Sabin Truth Martini Loverboy Steve Deranged Ian Rotten ...I feel like I'm missing one of the main guys And the old ICW..they had a few names you might have heard of: CANADIAN THUG LIFE Edge (Sexton Hardcastle) Christian (Christian Cage) Rhyno (Rhino Richards) Joe E Legend as well as: Mosh Thrasher New Jack Swinger Hido Nova Rik "$40" Matrix They've also had Corino, Whipwreck, Dreamer, Corino, and tons other I can't evern remember

Guest razazteca Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 well there is the San Antonio fed Extreme Texas Wrestling which is run by Rudy Gonzales who used to work for Shawn Michaels Texas Wrestling Association/school. I will be going to a show on this coming Wednesday as Konnan will headline vs Mike Fox. In the DFW area there were 2 feds that I went to NWA Southwest and Pro Championship Wrestling. the NWA affialiate is how should I put it is not as good as NWA TNA, even though they have had champions from here. Pro Championship Wrestling from Arlington, at the Six Flags Gym located at the Six Flags Mall is a far superior show. It was on Saturday mornings on UPN while NWA Southwest was on Sunday late nights on a channel with the worst reception in the area. PCW had commercials by Jazz and Reddog, and during every commercial break they ran commercials for their school...."we have 30981 pounds of free weights, learn martial arts, learn how to do interviews, blah blah blah."
Guest KanadianKrusty Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 The only indy fed in my area is CCW(Canadian Championship Wrestling) and they pretty much always have good shows, they draw anywhere between 200 and 550 for their weekly shows, their top guys are: -Keven Martel(Rick's nephew) -Sunny War Cloud -Kona -Brick Crawford -Sweet Kiss Douglas Ziggy they never bring the "big names" but Rick Martel appears once in a while because his nephew co-owns the fed. The matches are lacking psychology but their shows are usually very entertaining. a solid B+ for CCW
Guest Reverb Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 Hey Krusty, don't forget their Cruiserwerights, they're real good!! (from what I've seen). To complete Krusty's post, the more important indy feds in Quebec are: - CCW (Canadian Championship Wrestling in Quebec City) - ICW (Inter Championship Wrestling in Montreal) It's almost the only fed that has steady flowing storylines in Quebec. Their Stars include: Serge and Ludger Proulx (the main faces), Mathy69, Martin Rolland, The Mobster and Le Screw. They attract about 200 people at rtheir weekly shows. - NCW (Northern Championship Wrestling in Montreal) Stars include(d): All of those ranked in the PWI 500: Chackal, Piranah, Franky the Mobster (former star in NCW) and Black Eagle. They attract 150-200 people to their regular shows and about 550-600 people on their big shows.
Guest KanadianKrusty Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 Hey Krusty, don't forget their Cruiserwerights, they're real good!! (from what I've seen). DAMN! I can't believe I forgot the cruisers! they're just so good... especially Hell Storm and D.J Sick(they appeared once at CZW I think) who are currently kicking 47 different kinds of ass.And there's also the Extreme Revolution who are pretty good(except Crazy Crusher, he sucks, I mean... he can blade but that's about it)
Guest Reverb Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 DAMN! I can't believe I forgot the cruisers! they're just so good... especially Hell Storm and D.J Sick(they appeared once at CZW I think). Yep they did appear on CZW. They face each other but the match ended in a no contest because of the interference by the Hardcore Ninjaz from the IWS, another Montreal based promotion. Several stars from CZW appeared there.
Guest razazteca Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 I forgot to mention the regulars of the old TWA: American Dragon Spanky Shooter Shultz Jermany Sage Venom "Paul Diamond" PCW had Mike Fox AJ Styles Mike Douglas Zane Morris Awesome Kong Jazz Red Dog the only thing good about NWA Southwest was that every year around winter they would have the NWA World Heavyweight Champion do a show. I saw Dan Severn and Steve Corino.

Guest Reverb Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 yep, ask Jackal, you know where, he has it.
Guest meanmaisch Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 CZW Jersey All Pro various Jersey indy feds
Guest NazMistry Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 Well now that I live in Northampton - England, my local indy fed is UPW (United Professional Wrestling). I'm actually going to be trained by one of UPW's head trainers. So I could be working for them inside two years.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 There are 2 Schools around me, but I only follow 1, since I will be going to it. NEPW (North East Pro Wrestling) in NY. Top Stars include - Zieg (head trainer) - WCW/ECW Big Vito (Trainer also) - "NEPW Lord of the Ring" Philly Madison (W00T W00T) - Sienna Blaze (Just lost the World Title on Friday) - Jimmy Hawk - Brock Landers and Max Gaata (X-Rated) - T-Bonz - Bill Ding - CBW (Chocolate Boy Wonder) - Mike Farma (World Champ) - The F.U. (Founders Union - Zieg and Eric Kreed) - The New Pretty Good (Philly Madison, Trey Owens, and Tyler Kreed - I believe that Owens and Kreed are Tag Champs) - And some more, That I cant really remember. The biggest Heel in the company is probably Philly Madison (I Mark For Philly), even though Zieg is really the "top" heel. Siena is the top face I would guess, with T-Bonz, CBW, and Bill Ding. Usually draw about 100 people to there shows (They have 1 show a month, and the building holds about 100 people.). The NEPW has close ties with NWA, as many of NEPW's students have held NWA titles, and a few months back, NEPW had a show with some NWAers. In a NWA Tag Title Tourney, X-Rated came close to defeating Christian York and Joey Matthews, and in the main event of that show, NEPW Head Trainer, Zieg, defeated Big Vito (CHEATER!). NEPW = B+
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted August 26, 2002 Report Posted August 26, 2002 Which part of NY is NEPW in? Staten Island I believe. check it out at www.TeamNEPW.com
Guest cartman Posted August 26, 2002 Report Posted August 26, 2002 Anyone in the northeast heard of/seen the PWF? My buddy just got involved as an "Owner" character, he pretty much manages a team called The Damned... Not to mention after his first promo dissing Rob Dimension(PWF owner) he got a part in the saturday NWA New England show in Woonsocket, RI.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I live in southeast Missouri so what we have here is... CCW ..Chaotic Championship Wrestling. They run northeast Arkansas, western Tennessee and, when they get their liscences straight because of changes in the Missouri regulations, southeast Missouri.Good promotion.I like them a lot.But they don't draw well.Actually, nobody draws well consistantly down here that I've seen. But they have the best core of talent,I think. They have a show coming to Jonesboro,Arkansas on September 21. MSWA-Mid South Wrestling Association.I've seen a couple of their shows. They do nothing for me personally. They're ok but their best talent all wrestles for CCW too. The other I haven't seen yet.VCWA..as I understand it they drew over 100 people a week or so ago.I don't know if that's normal.SCWF or something like that.I don't know. After a while ,all the letters blend together.
Guest BifEverchad Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Newfoundland only has 2 local feds, and they are pretty much an embarrassment to wrestling. They try, but there is too much crap involved to be taken any way serious. Don't get me wrong there is talent, but its pretty thin. Check them out for a good laugh, and leave some remarkable comments NCW (Newfoundland Championship Wrestling) : http://www.mykel.nf.net/html/main.html CEW (Cutting Edge Wrestling) : http://www.cuttingedgewrestling.com/menu.html
