Guest Karnage Report post Posted August 24, 2002 I currently pick up Ultimate Spidey, Spidey/Black Cat, TF G1, TF Armada and GI Joe monthly. I am going to stop collecting GI Joe since its been crappy lately, and TF G1, TF Armada and Spidey/Black Cat are all mini series that are going to end soon. What are some good comics I could subscribe to where they just recently started a new story arc?
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 Pick up Y: The Last Man. It's only up to #2, and it has a really cool premise (every man on earth, except one, has been killed by a plague). Guest HellSpawn Report post Posted August 25, 2002 Maybe you should try GI JOE by Larry Hama 'n' Dan Jurgens, it'll come in a few months, its a new book with rotating creative team, Hama/Jurgens will pick a story between the last GI JOE book years ago and before the new relaunch. Hama wrote several (if not all) JOE's way back on Marvel (or DC? I cant remember in which one)
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted August 25, 2002 Larry Hama wrote issues #1 - #155 of GI Joe. He wrote them under Marvel which had him abruptly end the series while he still had several dangling plot lines left to finish. Hama also created and wrote every bio that came on the back of the GI Joe action figure's packaging.
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I believe there's a GI Joe TPB out now that reprints some of Marvel's early work, with more on the way. Maybe you could check them out if you're a big fan. I specially like the "silent issue" where Snake-Eyes has to rescue Scarlett. Sassquatch, great SIG, by the way. Iron Man is my favorite. I believe that was an annual, i would have to go look to confer it, but am 90% sure on that.
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted September 1, 2002 The "Silent" issue was G.I. Joe #21. This issue had the 1st apperance of Storm Shadow and is the most sought after issue out of the entire series. Various creators have stated that this issue inspired them to write comics and helped influence their wiritng. Here is the issue in question.
