Why is there no Cruiserweight match on SS?

I was just sitting here and looking at the card, and realized that it is totally void of anything having to do with the Cruiserweights. Would there be a reason for this? I swear, if we get some sort of bra & panties crap instead of a Cruiserweight match, I will not be very happy. It seems like the Cruiserweight division is one of the most over things on SD, so why wouldn't they plug SOMETHING from the division on the big show? Oh yeah, by "something", I mean something more than Jamie Noble and Nidia hosting from that damn restarurant!

I think because they want to give certain matches enough time. You mine as well not have a match then have the match announced, but cut due to time reasons.

3) Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Benoit (25 Mins)

 

4) Booker T & Goldust vs. Christian & Lance Storm (15 Mins)

 

5) Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio (15 Mins)

 

6) Ric Flair vs. Chris Jericho (15 Mins)

 

7) Undertaker vs. Test (10 Mins)

 

8) Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero (15 Mins)

...now if I added all that up right, it totals to about 155 minutes, or two and a half hours. I'm sure they could fit in at least another 10 minute match, call me crazy, but I really think they couldn've.

If you add it up, 2hrs and 45mins = 165 minutes total, which would obviously allow 155mins in the PPV. They COULD also add a Cruiserweight match in there also, if they so desired.

If you think about it, there really isn't any overlying cruiserweight feud going on right now to be on the PPV. Even though I'd love to see Jamie Knoble, BOY!, if there's not going to be a "purpose" for the match I'd just as rather see it on Velocity.

 

Sure, they could just throw on Knoble vs. Kidman onto the card, but if they keep doing that without a feud, it'll be like the ever-tired Trish vs. Molly/Jazz women's title matches that they usually put on EVERY time with no build-up.

They've could have easily moved forward with Knoble v. Funaki (based on the interview segments w/ Nidia), v. Moore/Hurricane/Hardy (pin in tag match), or Knoble/Kidman on back history.

 

I'd rather actually have them go with Raven vs. D'Lo on HEAT and OMEGA boyz vs. Rico/Billy and Chuck to open but that really didn't go anywhere.

Isn't Raven vs. D'Lo going to be on HeAT? That seemed to me to be the obvious conclusion to their feud the way it's been booked, unless I missed something.

Hmmmm... are there ever cases where matches are used on both international HeAT and on the "live" HeAT at the PPV? Because if not, I'd say both D'Lo and Raven got screwed, unless the international HeAT wasn't the blow-off and the feud will continue.

I personally was dreaming of a 4-Way Elimination Cruiserweight match at Summerslam consiting of Noble Vs. Tajiri Vs. Kidman Vs. Funaki. I would love to see them bang that one out, and could be very good if done right.

Now you see, this would have made sense after the tag match from Velocity a couple weeks ago, where Funaki got the win. Show a highlight package from the tag match, and throw these 4 out on PPV for 20 minutes. Not hard.

We could be all like...

 

Rock vs. Brock - 18:00 - because Brock isn't conditioned enough to last 25.

 

HBK vs. HHH - 27:00 - because they will bloat up and need time to recover from their big insane "spots"

 

....maybe next PPV.

I'm as big a Funaki fan as anyone, but I think just because they're actually using him and he won last week doesn't mean they should rush him into a "Shoberg"/"FuBrocki" push yet.
