Macho Man Randy Savage to return to WWE!?

This is from here so take it with a grain of salt. It is interesting however...

I was listening to a local radio station around town, 100.5, and they had an interview with the Macho Man Randy Savage. They talked about his small appearance in Spiderman and about how Hulk Hogan has come back strong and is still competing at his age. Savage said he has talked with WWE about a return sort of a last run situation.

 

He explained that they first contacted him about a return to the NWO, plans for that return obviously fell through after Nash went down. He has since been in talks with WWE to come back for some possible commentating and try and get back into the ring for another run. Savage said nothing is in concrete yet but hopes that a deal will develop soon.

 

...I've always said that I'd like to see Randy Savage have one last run. Hell, I'm sure the guy could still bust out a pretty good match with the right opponent. Let me put it this way...

 

...as long as we don't pair him up with a Hogan, Big Show, etc... and instead put him in there with a Benoit, Angle, or Rocky, then I'm ALL FOR THIS.

Right, so we can put *another* 50 year old guy over Benoit, Angle, and Rock.

 

The WWE has already released guys from developmental deals to save $$$, so why bring in Savage when we already know he wants $$$?

I like Savage and wouldn't mind him coming back if he was used in a similar way as to how Hogan was used. Although Savage can still go in the ring, so maybe he could have a credible push without making half the roster look bad.

I completely agree with you on this. I would still mark out fully for this to happen, but it doesn't mean that he deserves a title other than maybe a tag title reign. I loved the Mega Powers back in 88. They never got a title shot. How about Mega Powers 2k2 your Tag champions?

I'd rather take the better half of the Gorgeous George/Randy deal and get Gorgeous George into the WWE.

 

 

George (who can't use that name for long cuz of Savage, it sucks having your ex own your name) would at least be an interesting addition to the WWE. Bring on the mud matches!

While i'd probably mark out if Savage did come back, i'd rather the WWE didn't bring another former star in and concentrate on who they have now. Still, Savage would be better than bringing in Luger.

I see it now... Lawler is doing some dumbass swimsuit competition or something to waste time, and suddenly "Pomp and Circumstance" BLASTS when the King's theme plays him to the ring. Savage comes out in his full regalia, hat and all, not that lame muscleshirt stuff he had going in WCW. He calmly kicks Lawler's ass, grabs a microphone and says that he's doing color commentary now, send the ladies to the back, because this is a WRESTLING SHOW, OOOOOOH YEAH!

 

Then everyone proceeds to act as if he never left.

 

This would be great, but never happen. Savage could be the guy that Jericho, the Hardys, Lance Storm and such look up to, as opposed to the bigger names all idolizing Hogan, the midcarders who can actually, you know, WORK, idolize the MACHO MAN, OOOOOH YEAH!

 

Er, whatever. This just made me happy when I read it.

Savage finally beating Hogan is a nice thought, but let's be realistic....

 

If there was a plague that killed every professional wrestler alive except for Hogan & Savage - leaving them as the only 2 wrestlers on Earth, and Savage was then hired by WWE to wrestle a never-ending feud against Hogan in order to keep buisness alive, meaning that - logistically - at some point Savage would have to beat Hogan for the storyline and the WRESTLING BUISNESS ITSELF to continue....Hogan STILL would never job cleanly to Savage.

Not that I'd complained to have the Macho Man back, just that he isn't the 230 pounder that went toe to toe with Steamboat... Hell Steamboat isn't the 230 pounder that went toe to toe with Savage...

 

Last time we saw Savage he roided up almost to the size of Big Papa Pump and was so insecure of his Knees that he lands with full force on his Big Elbow drops Crushing peoples lungs like lil Natch.
