The One And Only Summerslam Thread

Review ruled, Bo. Now if you can work "fo sheez" in your reviews also, we're in business. I'm going to try and get Trish to say it on Raw when she comes online again.

You could say I'm giving "fo sheez" the Jesus Push.

IT WILL BECOME POPULAR, OR DIE TRYING TO GET OVER!

Fo sheez,

Kotzenjunge

I'll throw my own star ratings in here, after a second viewing.

Angle/Rey ***1/2 (I want more, much more!)

Jericho/Flair *1/2 (Bad finish, but too short to be really offensive)

Edge/Eddy **3/4 (The finish came totally out of nowhere, and he hit the spear with the arm that had been working on ALL DAMN MATCH)

UnAmericans vs BookDust *** (Nowhere near as bad as everyone is making it out to be, but a bad finish)

RVD vs Benoit ***1/2 (Again, the finish came out of nowhere)

Test vs Undertaker *1/2 (Really not too bad)

HHH vs HBK **** (Great booking, great story, unbelivable performance)

Brock vs Rock ***1/2 (Great booking, but I wanted more)

Angle/Rey *** (Could have been better)

Jericho/Flair **1/2 (Why did Flair win?)

Edge/Eddy **3/4 (Edge wins with the NO SELLING SPEAR OF DOOM~)

UnAmericans vs BookDust **3/4 (Good match)

RVD vs Benoit ***1/2 (Good match, but hardly any crowd heat, and Benoit's submissions actually made me sleepy ::Ducks flying objects::)

Test vs Undertaker *1/2 (Better than I though it was going to be)

HHH vs HBK ***1/2 (Good match. HHH w/Beard > HHH shaved. Shawn should have worn his tights)

Brock vs Rock **1/2 (Much better than I though it was going to be.)

My Thoughts

Kurt Angle defeats Rey Jr: (Grunge Match) - So we start off Summer Slam with a boom. Kurt Angle, dressed like a little candycane, enters the ring first, and is greeted by Rey from behind. A very good, quick start - and a very good ending. The whole match was really exciting, and unexpected. Kurt Angle, a heavyweight against Rey Jr, a lightweight. The match was full of heavyweight moves, and submissions - but also full of lightweight jumping and diving, with quick action, it was more than what I expected. The ending had Rey Jr tap out, after missing a maunover. Overall, the beginning of SummerSlam couldn't have started any better. (Rating: 4/5)

Ric Flair defeats Chris Jericho: (Grunge Match) - Ok, I didn't expect much in this match, kinda like a piss break match - but, after watching it, it wasn't all that bad. Ric Flair with the victory after the Figure Four, I had Jericho winning the match, but really - who cares. Decent outing. (Rating: 2/5)

Edge defeats Eddy Guerrero: (Grunge Match) - Start off the show with three straight meaningless normal matches, eh? Well, its not so bad when you throw in two great wrestlers in Edge and Eddy. Great matchup, action all around - sleepers, top turnbuckle jumps, ddt's, all mixed in with a huge Spear at the end for the Edgey win. Excellent technical, offensive match. (Rating: 4/5)

Un-Americans defeats Booker T & Goldust: (Tag Team Championship) - Finally, a title of some sort. Very good matchup, but I really thought Dust/Booker was gonna take the titles. No Surprise, Test ran in and interferd. All around, long - very good action from two tag teams, haven't seen that in awhile, eh? (Rating: 3.5/5)

Rob Van Dam defeats Chris Benoit: (Intercontinental Championship) - From one title, to another - from one good match, to one great match. Everything I expected! Great action all around, technical to brawling, to highflying. One of my favorite all time wrestlers, Chris Benoit - proved why he is my favorite. I loved his non stop action, with those consective suplexs, I can't explain it, but I love it. This was my 2nd favorite match of the night, and for that - it deserves a big rating. (Rating: 4.5/5)

Undertaker defeats Test: (Grunge Match) - Back to the grungy of all grungys. I don't like test, and I can't stand him; but he did actually put on a good match tonight with the Undertaker. The Un-Americans (in NEW YORK of all places) ran out to interfer, what I was expecting was a beat down on the Taker, and BOOM - here comes Kane, but I guess they have other plans for him, which is good. Lets hope Kane goes after Brock. Anyways, overall a decent match. (Rating: 2.5/5)

Shawn Micheals defeats Triple H: (Grunge Match) - I was flatterd to see Shawn Micheals back in the ring, and what a night it was. The best match of the night in my opinion, which is great, but not saying much. Shawn Micheals put on a fantastic match (not his best ever), but for the shape he is in, a very damn good one. Triple H played his role, and just made it as hardcore as it could get. Ladders, Tables, Chairs, Sledge Hammers, and anything else they could fine, it was so enjoyable. HBK defeated Triple H with a reversal pin, but Triple H nailed Shawn with two sledgehammer shots to the spine afterwards. (Rating: 5/5)

Brock Lesnar defeats the Rock: (Undisputed Championship) - The new world champion of the WWE, is now .. a cow. Brock Lesnar defeats the Rock, in which was a good match all around, but also a strange one at that. The fans we're booing the Rock, and we're booing Brock. They we're cheering Rock, they we're cheering Brock. All around, a big mess of woos and awws. Lets just say, yippie ki yay, I predicted it all. (Rating: 3/5)

Overall Pay Per View Rating: (4/5) - One of the best this year, all in all - lots of fun.

This thread is absolutely hilarious to look back on.

I also love Mulatto Heat saying that Big Show was worthless after Monday... and a scant three months later he'd be World Champion.

Look back and laugh.
