Biggest Moment on WWF TV that hit the waterworks.

In my view, the one thing that was very sentimental was the Raw after Owen Harts death. Everyone looked shook up, and during some of the rememberence, JeffJarrett, Debra, Road Dogg, Triple H, Chyna, & MArk Henry seemed to be the most touched. I remember that Mark Henry's peom made me cry that night. NO I AM NOT ASHAMED OF IT.  Istill have this taped, and watch it on occasion for sentimetal reasons.

Biggest Pops:

Jeff Jarrett using the Sharpshooter on Test

Stone Cold toasting Owen Harts Pic on the TitanTron.

Billy Gunn's opening saying "if you aint down with Owen Hart, i got two words for ya!"

Jeff Jarrett saying OWen Hart wasnt a nugget.

yes, Owen's death was the saddest and darkest hour of Wrestling's history but as far as an actual angle goes, Nothng beats Elizabeth and Randy's reunion at WM7.

A lot of people didn't like Austin toasting a beer to a picture of Owen. Don't know why, since I didn't have access to the net back then.

Me niether (internet) Wrestlemania VII was pretty emotional, but not in the same way. Also for a wrestler, Big Show winning the title 4 days after his father died was very emotional for him, and maybe other people if ya look at it.

What I didn't like about Austin toasting the beer was that it just seemed a little too "in character" and insincere. On a night when heels like Jeff Jarrett and Triple H (was he a heel at the time? I don't remember) were pouring their hearts out to the camera, I was hoping that Austin would say something heartfelt. But in hindsight, I suppose it wasn't so bad. A lot of guys don't like to be sad & emotional in public, so you've got to respect that.

Oh, also, a lot of people hadn't forgotten that Austin held a grudge against Owen after The Piledriver.

I forgot about that. he said hed never forgive Owen for that "stinger" I believe. Triple H had just turned Heel by the way.

Yep. There were also some comments he made in that Rolling Stone article that a lot of Owen fans weren't happy with. I don't remember what they were, though, and I think I threw out that issue.

Hm, that's a depressing memory 'cause I bought that Rolling Stone issue at the Borders at the WTC, then I read it while I was waiting for class...in a building which was partly destroyed by the North Tower collapsing :(

Anyway, as far as angles go, yeah, nothing welled me up more than the Liz/Savage reunion at WrestleMania. Also (and this is kinda pathetic), I felt a little sad during the King Haku coronation because I, a young mark, thought that Harley Race really was nearly dead from that table spot. I remember being pissed off at the fans who were cheering when Heenan brought it up. Hehe.

As tears of sadness, Owen Hart's death.  I was watching OVER THE EDGE on May 23rd when it happened, and it was a hard evening.  Hart was easily one of the best and most fun to watch wrestlers, and it's a shame the life of such a good man as himself had to be cut short.

As tears of joy, The WWF History video...I watched it about ten times the night it aired (I tape RAW), each time the tears growing bigger in my eyes.  I'm not a huge Kid Rock fan (but I'm not the biggest anti-Kid Rock fan either), but the music fit perfectly.  So many memories, so many moments, so much magic.  At the end, I wasn't thinking of "glass ceilings"...or backstage politics...or even the bad storylines we were enduring.  All I could think was: "I love the WWF."

Im just glad they had the decensy of putting a shot of Owen in it. And the song went GREAT with the history flashbacks.

Certainly welled up myself at the old video.  Hard to say why- probably just brings back so many memories.

Obviously the Owen thing did it as well- I only saw the whole thing for the first time about 3 months ago, and I think in all it was as good as it could be.

The Smackdown after 9/11 (or 11/9 as we say here in the UK) also got you as well (save for SMH).  Similar emotions to Owen.

The Liz/Savage reunion is a given.  Even watching it on Excess a short time ago it was still as moving as ever.

The night Owen died was a hard night.  Raw the following night was emotional too but it hit me the hardest the night of his death.  I didn't have PPV back then so I was just keeping updated on the Internet and when I hit reload on the page that I was on and it said that Owen Hart had died from a stunt gone wrong at the PPV I couldn't believe it.

The History of the WWF Desire package was moving as well as the Undertaker one and the HHH one.

Saddest moment- Owen

Other memorable moments for me:

Foley's farewell walk at No Way Out 2000. Too bad he had to come back.

Pillman's salute and then Vince interviewing his wife. Let her grieve dammit!!!

Oh, also, a lot of people hadn't forgotten that Austin held a grudge against Owen after The Piledriver.

Some people were upset that he reacted more to Owen's death than to the death of Pillman, who was actually his friend.

Both of my moments involved Owen.

Obviously the first one was Owen's death. Not on the night it happened, because I was in shock, but the Raw the next night when it really hit me.

Second is pretty embarrassing.  I was (and still am) a HUGE Bret Hart mark, and when Owen cost Bret his second world title, in his loss to Backlund....I cried like a baby.

Owen's RAW, lillian singing the National Anthem on Smackdown!, WM7 with randy and liz, and def. the desire video. Owen's RAW was just so special and moving even for a 12 year old.

I'll go with the majority here and say Owen. I was shocked the night of the accident, but I didn't feel emotionally distraught until they did the 10 bell salute the next night on RAW. That's when it hit me, of what exactly had happened and I fought to hold back tears.

A sad mark moment for me was when Hogan lost the WWF title at Survivor Series '91. I know I know, but hey I was only 7 at the time, I was a Hulkamania and the Undertaker still scared me. The rest of the PPV was ruined for me, as all I could think about was that Hogan no longer had the title. Oh well, kids are dumb.

Really? That was actually one of my biggest markout moments ever. I loved the idea that Bob Backlund never *really* lost the title to the Iron Sheik, which meant that the entire Hulkamania era was a lie, kind of. I was looking forward to the awesome Mr. Backlund-as-champ promos where he would shoot on Hulk Hogan for never having beaten him, and how he was the TRUE immortal of the WWF.

Then, the following Monday morning came, when I logged onto my email and read that fucking Diesel defeated Backlund for the title at MSG, two nights earlier. THAT's when I cried like a baby.

What about when HBK lost his smile?  That was a real tearjerker.  (sarcastic asshole mode off)

Austin obviously and rightfully so had heat with Owen.  I think his toasting the pisture was unnecessary and I didn't care for Rock cutting a wrestling promo in character and playing to the fans.

Owen and Pillman were very sad losses, with Owen's death superseeding Pillman's IMO due to the accidental nature of Owen's and the basically self-induced nature of Pillman's.  This is not a rip on Pillman (who I thought was a great performer) it is just my opinion.

You've got Austin in a no win situation.

If he doesn't appear he's an asshole.

If he appears out of character...he'd have to lie (or else recognize his dislike for Owen)

If he does the beer salute he's just playing a character.

The overriding factor in all of this is that Austin was the leader of the WWF at the time.

Remember Bret standing in the front of the rest of the roster on the ramp the night after Pillman died?

Same deal.  Your leader leads.  Whether they were his sentiments or not...they were the RIGHT sentiments.

If you go by that...then The Undertaker is an asshole for not appearing. Then again, Taker was also in a no win situation. He only had his "Dead Man" character.

I think Taker is in that situation because of his gimmick.

Austin is the biggest star they had.

And who ever said that Taker wasn't an asshole...........I kid....I kid...

When Hogan turned Heel and joined the nWo I don't know why but maybe it was because I was so excited I thought he was coming out to help the WCW,I welled up,but soon I began to love the heel Hogan he is so great

I'm not saying Austin had to lie or say "I hated Owen", since I doubt very much that he was happy that Owen was dead. Just saying something like, "I'm sorry he died. He was a nice guy and everyone here at the WWF is gonna miss him," wouldn't have been stretching the truth.

Well, with the blurring of RL/character, who's to say that Steve Williams wasn't out there toasting his fallen co-worker in his own manner? I could go along with Austin doing just that.

I'll also go along with Liz/Savage at WMVII and most all of SD the week of the 9/11 attacks. Very emotional, to me.

I thought The Big Show winning the Title at Survivor Series was pretty cool.  It restored my faith that ANYTHING can happen in the WWF.  Plus, the tears being shed by The Show were kinda touching and somehow that theme music actually fit the mood of the moment, as strange as that sounds.

I just registered so I could post on this.. I don't know why, but the Only time that I really cried was when I turned into Nitro early before it came on and saw that Louie Spicolli died..  I'm not sure why, but i just broke down......  It's some crazy stuff.  I also got a little teary at the Desire video, and the Hogan video that he ran on Smackdown or Raw..  Brought back some splendid memories...

The last Nitro (without all of the WWF stuff). The emotion and uncertainty didn't neccesarily make me cry, but the idea of WCW being finished was scary.

Booker T winning the WCW title at Bash at the Beach.

Mick Foley retiring at No Way Out.

Hogan losing used to get to me when I was younger as well.
