Couple of pointless Summerslam observations

I just figured it would be a gradual change - not have thirty thousand strong just out of nowhere chanting "ROCKY SUCKS!"

 

It was really weird watching that match because of it... I mean, you'd hear:

 

"LET'S GO LESNAR!" *clap clap clapclapclap*

 

Then Rock gets a Spinebuster and there's a HUGE pop - which two seconds later is split in half. Or you'd hear:

 

"ROCKY! ROCKY!"

 

Then Lesnar would get a move to a big pop, which was then split in half...

 

Really weird.

just a tidbit on stephannie I think she looks ten times hotter when she is all cleaned up and her hair is down, instead of her slutty stuff during DX/Mcmahon helmsley crap or during her ECW ownership stuff, or anytime she has her hair pulled back so tight.

Rock plays up the crowd whenever he gets booed, he wasn't legit pissed.

 

And that crowd still holds no bearing on how the casual fans see Rock. The guy has consistantly been the number one pop getter at everyshow he has shown up in. Some dead for most of the night, poping for shit in the stands ass crowd booed him and every one acts like it is the sgn that the fans are tired of him.

I'm not sure what to think, Ripper. I mean, I know there are some people that hate the Rock, but really, what are the odds that half the Nassau Coliseum just happened to be those people?

I didn't see the show, but here's something I notice now: there wasn't a lot of filler. Every match had important people in it. No Dudleys, no Big Shows, no Rikishis. There were either veterans, or the up and comers. True, many of the decisions were weird, but at leas they had the right participants.

And Steph had ALWAYS Been Hot. But she was showing her legs off tonight, and was I drooling.

I was laughing that Shawn wore jeans and cowboy boots, and then here Trips comes decked out fully in his attire. Yeah, we get it's a fight. Just wear some tights Shawn? It makes you look younger... like the old days. At least we can pretend.

 

Angle's tights were ugly as hell with the red stripes.

 

Once again we get backwards booking, which wasn't as bad as Vengeance, but there were still some "hey it completely doesn't make sense for me to win but I'll win anyway" kinda deals going on.

 

The crowd- It was way weirder than 'Mania. Pretty much everyone was chanting for Hogan the whole time. This was so weird. It was hard for me to hear in the sports bar but man, I heard legit Rocky and Rocky sucks chants right after another. It kinda seemed like there was a group near the front who loved Lesnar and kind of led the chants. It sounded louder because they were closer and people who caught on joined in. They sucked donkey balls during RVD/Benoit though. And at the beginning of HBK/HHH they didn't sound into it at all.

 

I don't think Rock was pissed... he always plays up to it. He's a great heel and I love the way he looks at the fans and opens his eyes up. He has the best facial expressions sometimes.

 

The ending of the main event was so not the same without JR screaming.

Well I think originally, it was just a small handful of fans chanting for Brock. I was at the sportsbar watching and at the beginning you couldn't make out exactly what the fans were saying, but throughout the match more fans joined in.....I think either fans just saw Rock getting manhandled and just went for something new, or they just wanted to join the "cool guys" and chant for the heel. Remember now, your casual fans aren't very loyal at all, they just cling to the new thing and suck it dry and move on........really though, isn't a match 100x better when the crowd is split, rather than the usual fan reaction for one guy over the other......

I was at a bar myself last night and though you could barely hear the "Rocky Sucks" chants, the fact that everyone in the bar cleared out during the three count tells you the same thing: the finish was obvious and there was some disappointment in the lack of drama in that. Since Lesnar has no catchy, three syllable chant for the crowd to bestow on him, they went with the easy one.

 

Long Island + obvious finish + previous matches + a movie actually titled "Helldorardo" = boos.
