No. Flair gave him the belt 3 weeks later on the debut show of "Raw" under Flair's 100% control (with the new set). BTW, thanks AS. Exactly what I needed. I have only one scenario: In storyline terms, Trips is the last person to have seen that belt (or have held it, for that matter.) If Hunter gets into a angle with the Champ, possibly a face wrestler (Angle?) and their title match ends with a finish similar to the Angle/UT title match a few weeks ago, Trips can claim 1/2 of the ownership to the belt.
