I was wondering if any of you guys subscribed to newsletters back in the day.  The newsletters I'm talking about are not the Observer/Torch/Lariat, etc., but The Bagpipe Report and the others that were available before the onset of the big news sites?

I assume you're referring to email newsletters.

Yes, I subscribed to the Bagpipe Report. I actually still find myself subscribed to some other ones, since when one goes down, it usually sells its subscriber list to a fledging new email newsletter. Most of the news I get in them is usually old by the time I read it, but they're slightly interesting to read when I'm bored at work.

I didn't know that they were still around.  I would think that they would be obselete and the news would be very old.

I enjoyed the Bagpipe Report and there were two others that I subscribed to, but the names escape me now.

The news is usually about a day old, but they're good for people who don't need the VERY LATEST news and who are either too lazy or too busy to check out the various news sites several times a day, like we do.

I was subscribed to the Bagpipe report... Charles McLoran (sp) was the name of the guy who ran it. Whatever happened to him? I think that it is also where Blake Norton got his start.

I had wondered what happened to him as well.  I was searching through a bunch of stuff around my computer and found a disk that has some old Bagpipe Reports on it.  That's where I first heard about Nash/Hall going to WCW.

I used to really enjoy that newsletter.

Anyone remember The Sharpshooter? Colin something or other.

Can't forget Scotsman's Kilt Report, the best source of Indy news on the net or something like that.

Also, does anyone remember the old newsboards? Wrestling Headlines? K-Rock and Too Sweet?

Oh, and don't forget the amazing Sushi-X with his daily newsletter, and if you were lucky enough to have downloaded AOL 3.0 with it's new ability to have color in your emails, you got all your Sushi-X goodness in a beautiful neon green/black combination.

And then there were all the sites on simplenet, like Wrestlelord, Falcon's WWF Pages, and the ever popular Stork and Unibombs wrestling themes.

Those were the days.

Do you mean Colin Vassallo? He runs one of the newsletters I still subscribe to. Wrestling-online newsletter, or some shit.

Yeah, I loved K-Rock and Too Sweet's Wrestling Headlines. wrestlingheadlines.com is actually back...it seems to be what Lords of Pain has morphed into.
