Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Well, I wasn't at the PPV last night, but from what I heard, that crowd was great. I remember a few weeks ago that someone posted that the Nassau crowd would kill the event.....they proved that guy wrong......
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted August 26, 2002 This event was the exception rather than the norm. Long Island crowds are usually right up there with SoCal crowds in terms of fan apathy.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 26, 2002 The crowd was odd. I would not judge anything by them though because they were cheering a lot of the heels. Angle got cheered, Jericho got cheers, Eddy didn't but Edge did not get much of a reaction.

Guest sk8420kid Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I was there, and all week I've been reading how the Nassau fans would kill the event, but we turned it into one of the most hot and bizzare crowds ever. The crowd was super hot for Angle/Rey, and Flair got some good heat. Eddie/Edge wasn't bad but it killed the crowd alittle. Booker and the Undertaker were really over. When Benoit put the arm submission on RVD, and asshole chant started cause security was throwing some drunk guy out. HHH/HBK was just as good as Foley/HHH, IMO. The main event was the best part, because everyone knew he was leaving again so that made Lesnar the face by default. Rock devaluated the title even more by holding it for a month, they should have just kept it on Undertaker so he could have a respectable 3 month reign and lose to Lesnar. The place went crazy when Brock won. After the match Rock gets on th mic and tries to do his thing, but everyone starts booing him and he can't get anything out, so he just says "Finally, it's over." and walks out. This was the best WWF/E event I've ever been to.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Not only were they awake, but they were downright passionate in someparts, and bizarro in others (Rock-Brock)
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I wish I was there for the Rock interview, but you guys bought all the tickets in like 90 minutes flat. FUCK YOU ALL!!
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted August 26, 2002 You guys in New York cheer for the talented guys, right? Sid. That one word counteracts everything you said. Jason
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Hell, them cheering Brock pretty much defeats the 'we cheer talented guys' argument right there.
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Brock has raw talent. It's there.
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I think Brock has a great amount of talent that's getting buried under a lame power style there making him wrestle. Why they have him doing bar hugs instead of busting out the shooting star really pisses me off. However you can't argue at this point you can't argue that he's better in the ring than the Rock. I used to hate the Rock right after he turned babyface just out of spite because he was so over with the marks. I've grown to see he is a great talent work rate wise, but I am still bored as hell with his mic work. I no longer think Rocky sucks, but I can understand why pepole would turn on him. If he ever comes back he needs to be the cool heel he was and not worry about his reaction because pepole will care. They need to have a top face as over as Austin by that point and I think buisness well make some what of a up turn.
Guest fairtoflair7 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Actually, people were chanting asshole b/c a girl was gonna flash her tits but security threatened her and she didn't end up doin it. I was at the last time they came to the colisseum for a live event, RAW, and it was pretty dead but boy, it was rockin last night. Hopefully, the crowds at Nassau will get respect for what happened last night.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 You guys in New York cheer for the talented guys, right? Sid. That one word counteracts everything you said. Agreed. I think Sid got cheered cause NY hates HBK's character. The Pretty boy Fag.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Another tidbit about the crowd (from an email from someone who attended) In the lobby, before the arena was opened, there was an "X Pac Fired!" chant. LOL!
