Guest Kingpk Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 The PS2 Network Adapter was released today too, don't forget. I'll be getting one when I get a cable modem this winter.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I will too...when I get broadband. I know the PS2 adapter will let me on with dialup...but I'm not going to bother.
Guest Perfect Plex Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I will too...when I get broadband. I know the PS2 adapter will let me on with dialup...but I'm not going to bother. Same here, I don't want to be the bitch of the game, slowing everyone else down. I'd rather just stay here and be the bitch of the board.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I got SUPER MONKEY BALL 2 TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And MArio Sunshine...but Monkey Ball rules!! I dunno about Monkey Ball. I got the first one for 20 bucks off half.com, and for the brief time that I had it, I really couldn't get into it. Then someone stole my gamecube and games and after I got the money back, I didnt rebuy monkey ball. Im waiting on Mario Sunshine until when Star Fox Adventures comes out and then I'll buy them both. The Gamecube is going to have an internet adapter too, but my crappy 24.0 kbps connection would suck, so unless broadband comes around here in the next couple of months (which I know it won't) I wont be getting it. Today was a good day for me..I preordered 24 Season 1 DVD off Amazon.com for 39 bucks, but thats a story for a different folder..
Guest Mattdotcom Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 My God, I am loving Super Mario Sunshine. I have played it for thirty minutes. I have nearly mastered the controls. It is so simple, yet so hard. Thank God I bought a GameCube. Who marked out for the remix of the "Blue (Underground) World" theme?
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 PS2 adapter is too expensive, and I don't have a memory card to use with it, so it's not a big deal to me. When they get some games for it I like, I'll consider it. Yes, Monkey Ball rules. Mario Sunshine rates as a "Meh" on the JotW scale.
Guest KANE Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I got them both as well. So far, I'm happy with both purchases, although it's too soon to really tell.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 GOD DAMN FUCKING SUPER MONKEY BALL 2 IS TAKING ALL OF MY FREE TIME JUST LIKE THE FIRST ONE DID!!!!!!! SOOOOOOO FRUSTRATINGLY GOOD
Guest El Satanico Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Ok i've heard it mentioned but never asked, but i can't go uninformed any longer. So exactly what in the hell is this Super Monkey Ball game?
Guest The Son of Sting Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Whats the multi-player like on MB2?
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 My God, I am loving Super Mario Sunshine. I have played it for thirty minutes. A whole thirty minutes? My god!!!
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Ok i've heard it mentioned but never asked, but i can't go uninformed any longer. So exactly what in the hell is this Super Monkey Ball game? You move a monkey, in a ball, around a platform to a goal. Gameplay is rather tedious but fun in less-than-huge doses.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Super Monkey ball is a stupid idea for a game that somehow turned out completely addictive to anyone with a competetive personality. You control this monkey...in a ball. That's all there really is. Basically...there are 2 components. Main Game and Party Game. In Super Monkey Ball 1...there were 6 party games (billiards, golf, race and some others) basically...these are awesome multi player games. And they aren't just thrown in willy nilly with no attention...these are quality games. Monkey Ball 2 updated the original 6...and brought in 6 new ones (soccer, baseball, boat race and 3 others) Main Game is the meat of teh single player (although you can play the party games against the computer in the case of soccer or billiards, and by yourself to play the round of golf...they are all available in single player too) The point of the game is to roll your monkey ball from the starting line to the finish line in the time given. There are many different obstacles and such to get there...and to be honest...some of the levels are what I like to call: UTTERLY FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!! Anyway... I can play that game for hours and it feels like minutes. As for the new mini games: You have to get enough points to unlock the 6 new ones... I played Monkey Golf 2 (which was already open) and I liked it alot more than the original. Monkey Billiards 2 was good as well. The only new one I played was Soccer...and it was pretty fun. It would be a good two player game.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 What about Monkey Target? Do you have to unlock it? Is it true that it's now split screen and multi-players can play at the same time instead of taking turns? Please let it be.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Monkey Ball was more fun in multiplayer than single player IMO. And, for those wondering, if you remember marble madness, its kinda similar (replace the marble with a monkey in a ball) and the fact that you control the ball by moving the level (floor) itself, not the ball or the monkey.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 28, 2002 Report Posted August 28, 2002 Well it's exactly what it sounds like, but that is so...friggin bizarre sounding. That just has to be a game totally developed by the same people that would make a cartoon about Hamsters. Them crazy Japanese.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted August 29, 2002 Report Posted August 29, 2002 "A whole thirty minutes? My god!!!" *Sighs* First impressions, ass. And lemme tell you something... Oh, who am I kidding? I'm just jealous of your DVDs....but I still love the game.
