Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 28, 2002 what is your opinion on the current trend of repacking old games from the 90s to different systems? Both Gameboy Advance and Playstation One have plans to release another wave of classic games in the next few months. Are you excited as I am when Super Ghouls & Ghost comes out for GBA or Final Fantasy 1 & 2 for the PS1? I will be buying these rereleases as I am having a hard time with Castlevania Chronicles and Chrono Trigger, which both are on the PS1, and enjoy the every minute of it, the little subtle additions to the games are great. Guest chirs3 Report post Posted August 28, 2002 The "repackaging the oldies" trend has given me a third platform (psx) on which to experience the Godliness of Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. So I'm all for it.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I like the idea, and enjoy many of the games, though I do think that they shouldn't be as expensive as brand-new games. Especially with something like Castlevania Chronicles: whoopee, they updated the graphics and sound to about an Super NES level, why's that worth $50? Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I got Castlevania Chronicles used for $16. Jingus is that $50 Canadian or US dollar? I think that the Castlevania game is a Japanese game rearranged with other classic Castlevania games. As the 1st level is from the NES game and I notice several characters from other Castlevania games in it. Also it seems that the game is only in Hard Level. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 28, 2002 Well, 50 might have been exaggerating it, but I'm pretty sure I saw it on sale for $40 (american) somewhere. And yeah, Chronicles is HARD, no doubt about it. It's the first sequel that was made in Japan, kind of like how the real Super Mario, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy sequels were never released here. Just check out what happens when you go to get that first porkchop!
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I love them. Anthologies was particularly great, as it let me play FF5 for the first time (worthwhile even though I didn't really like the game), and gave me an excuse to play FF6 again, which is always a good thing. I can't wait for the FF1 and FF2 collection. Talk about a nostalgia trip. I'll be able to go hunting for that imaginary T-Rex again, and get to play a new game too. Woohoo~!
