Billy Gunn is STILL considered a "Rising Star?"

Lets see, Billy Gunn has been in the WWF for what 8 years now?

 

I don't know, but being in the lime light of the WWF for 8 years (in the tag ranks/midcard though) would count as a VETERAN, not on the level of a young up-and-comer (I'd say anyone who has been in the WWF (or major promotions) for less than 5 years)

 

Which brings up a great point, wrestlers NEVER AGE.  Why is this?  Age becomes a factor in other sports when injuries and such are mentioned but in wrestling seems like everyone is on the same level with the exception of those making their WWF debuts or are in their first few years (i.e. Angle, Jericho and Benoit being older than HHH and the Rock yet are treated as if HHH and The Rock are the "old guard")

 

Just one of those annoying things that announcers seem to spread with the rest of their shilling

Rising Star...when used on someone without a pop...is a way of saying shitty.

 

For example:  Goldust calls RVD a rising star...that's true (except they won't let him rise)

 

They call Billy a rising star:  He's a failure/

 

Look at this:

Failed singles push. (Rockabilly?)

 

Tag champs as New Age Outlaws.

Rising "STAR" does not refer to some one who is young...Look at Kurt Warner, he was called a RISING star for a sport that starts at 23 and ends at 37 and he was 27 years old. (Old in football standards)
