Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted August 28, 2002 Acclaim has announced a brand new promotion for the big release of Turok Evolution on September 1st. The company is offering a $10,000 savings bond to the family of a child born on September 1st who is named Turok. People willing to name their new born child Turok in exchange for a $10,000 savings bond will have to provide proof that the child was born on 9/1, as well as a copy of the birth certificate labeling the child's name as Turok. The child will have to keep the Turok name for one year. Wow....

Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I wonder how many people would actually do that...Turok isn't that bad of name, unless you have a girl.

Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 28, 2002 Hey, for 10 grand? All you'd have to do is give the kid Turok for a middle name, and then change it to Timothy or something once the year has passed. I'd do it.
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I thought that it was open to anyone? not just new borns. For 10gs i'd do it.

Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 28, 2002 The rename yourself Turok for $450 bucks and a bunch of acclaim games was a hoax, I think, but it did inspire this.
Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted August 29, 2002 If somebody does this, stupidity will be running rampant. Seriously, not even for $10,000 Bond(Right?) would I ever name my kid that, ugh. This contest is stupid...plain and simple.
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Report post Posted August 29, 2002 Well, my brother named his kid Reiko, so he would probably do it.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 30, 2002 I named my dog Spot, but I don't know about giving life to a child and then cursing that life by naming the poor bastard Turok for some quick change. However, if my wife had quintuplets I think we could name 3 Turok, cause then it's worth it.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted August 30, 2002 Reiko I can deal with but Turok just doesn't sound right. And I also saw that they're only giving away one $10K bond to the first child born on 9/1, which means a few desperate and foolish souls will just end up emotionally scarring their children for nothing. My wager is on whoever wins this contest to somehow find a way to use the cash in a completely idiotic manner. After all, they did name their kid Turok. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 30, 2002 You guys are all missing an important point: it doesn't have to stay Turok. After the kid turns 1 year old, the deal is finished and the parents can change it.
