Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 24, 2002 What exactly is so great about Scott Steiner. He's ok in the ring. All the injuries, and excessive roids have made him a shell of his former self. His mic skills are basically him swearing and making vulgar comments. Sure Austin, and Rock are guilty of pointless and stupid interviews. However both are capable of cutting a serious promo when they have to.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 24, 2002 I agree with you Verne. The guy can't perform the way he used to. His interviews (even the quasi-shoots) were passable at best. I've been telling people for weeks that they should not look forward to this guy coming in. He's basically a cripple and WAY past his prime. They supposedly have a developmental guy who looks just like him and the WWF should be investing their time in creating NEW stars. NOT throwing out old guys who serve no purpose except to stroke their own egos. During the Invasion, I could have handled it. But now, why even bother? Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 24, 2002 I've never liked the guy and damn sure don't now, but I recognise that the Steiners USED to be a great team. Why there is any need for him in the WWF i don't understand.
Guest WWF4Life Report post Posted February 24, 2002 The WWF needs more kick ass heels. They already have enough dorky heels, what with Jericho and Angle. Steiner is intimidating and looks legitimately tough. Steiner in the WWF would be a good thing, since a feud with Austin or Rock would be something refreshing. Guest nwawildsidemark Report post Posted February 24, 2002 his physique and the fact that he's a loose cannon on the mic make the fans want to see him
Guest oldschoolhero Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Agreed. Steiner would be a much sounder investment than the my boyz the nWo, due to the fact that he's shown he can be professional and can still work a damn good match when he wants to (witness Steiner/Goldberg from Fall Brawl '00). Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Steiner can be perchieved as a threat on insant looks alone, unlike Hogan and Outsiders. Steiner apparently healed off all the injuries that nagged him in 2000 and is in good shape and clean and fresh.
Guest joshicho Report post Posted February 24, 2002 I also don't see what the big deal is about Steiner. I mean, he's ok and all but the WWF has got all the wrestlers they need at the moment and should concentrate on building from the inside.
Guest Flair5000 Report post Posted February 24, 2002 it's his presence and look. He's not what he was in the ring but he's a better worker than the nWo. I'd like to see him with Heyman as his manager.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Just bring Midajah.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 24, 2002 He's a strong heel and a great presence from WCW and people are looking for that.

Guest Big Poppa Smurf Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Aside from needing a new finisher Steiner is the perfect heel and could become a huge star if the WWF handles him right. As far as his interviews, yeah he has a pottymouth but he can get serious and deliver very entertaining promos(his tirade about DDP is still a favorite of mine). Guest oldschoolhero Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Steiner Vs. Angle would be suplexarific.
Guest mickberna Report post Posted February 24, 2002 I could deal with Steiner so long as he drops all the "Big Poppa Pump" horseshit, and ditches the recliner as his finisher. I've never seen such a silly-looking submission, and when it's performed by a hulking freak like Steiner, it looks even more ridiculous. No lame-ass nicknames and a power finisher. Then I could deal. But, yes, keep the chicks.
Guest Dick Hertz Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Scott steiner is the f'n man. His promos rule if u ask me. Like when he picks out audience members and calls them fat and ugly, thats hilarious. My favorite is when he basically said his ass was better looking than goldbergs girlfriend. If the WWF signs him he will be as big as SCSA, HHH, or Rock, mark my words. Guest imajackoff? Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I cant believe all these compliments for Scott Steiner's mic work. The dude has a mouthful of marbles. Sure, in the waning days of WCW when the inmates were truley running the aslyum, he was a "loose cannon". That wont happen in the today's WWF. We'll be left with a mumbling steriod freak with a bad back.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 25, 2002 steiner has the one thing vince really cares about: THE LOOK vince is obsessed with wrestlers who have THE LOOK, it's one of his (MANYMANYMANY) flaws.
Guest BlackRainbow1025 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I agree......I don't see where Steiner is good at all on the mic. He relies on cheap heat by calling fans fat or whatever. Big deal, maybe if we could work out and do steroids all day we wouldn't be so fat hehe. Seriously though, he needs to stop trying to be "hip" by calling himself Big Poppa Pump and saying "Holler if you hear me". Ditch that weak-ass camel clutch too. He doesn't do it right, reminds me of Rock's sharpshooter. Get a new powerful finisher (since he's too big to do the Frankensteiner). He could still be a major force, just no talking. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 25, 2002 If any of you watched the WWA PPV, you will realize that Steiner is DONE! His act is tired and the WWF has some kid that looks like him without all the injuries and the attitude problem. I hope both Steiners join Sting and retire tomorrow cos they simply are not interesting anymore and can't bring it in the ring.
Guest RSK Report post Posted February 25, 2002 I did miss the PPV Last night, But I do feel that the WWF do trully need a powerful heel that even Austin can show some sort of Fear of. Look at the Way they used Kane in the Begining he was an unstopable monster, that is the way they should portray Steiner if they bring him in, and the other thing would be put a mouth piece manager on him, Heyman would work... But not Steph!!!!!! Heyman could portray him as a Silent killer and let the WWF work there magic on Steiners Mic Work until it is time for him to speak. Lord knows Kane is stuck in limbo BECAUSE he's an unstoppable monster---and he could outwork Steiner in his sleep. This desire for Scott is simply the thing that a lot of WCW "stars" have now---it's been a while since people have seen them and they have forgotten why they didn't watch them in the first place. I can only imagine the cry for Sid that will arise in the near future. -=Mike ...And it's coming---just you wait.
Guest Big Poppa Smurf Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Steiner looked fine to me at the ppv last night night. He executed all of his suplexes flawlessly and his leg looked to be healthy and he was ripped. Plus he didn't mumble as much.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Steiner can still work. It's the same guy from 1991, just a different style. It's not like he forgets how to work, he may not be able to do everything as well.

It's not like he forgets how to work, he may not be able to do everything as well. >> But he's not the same guy he was in 1991. He's added a ton of muscle (which never IMPROVES a guy's work) and he has forgotten how to work. His WCW matches were as formulaic as a match could get (I could call all of his spots before he did them at one point) and not terribly good to boot. -=Mike
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 25, 2002 It's his age, injuries, and drug abuse that has slowed Steiner down. His matches have sucked for a couple years now so it could be time for him to hang it up.

Nice fallacy. If WCW went out of business, then it must be the WRESTLER'S faults, and none of them could possibly be worth watching. Right.. couldn't have had anything to do with the horrific management and booking? Get real. Scott Steiner was one of the few reasons to watch WCW in its final days. Guest rsk Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Agreed, his Match with Booker on the last nitro was one of the best around. So He was a reason to Tune in, Just to see what he would do next. But I will say this he has lost a step in his in ring work rate since he put on the muscle.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted February 25, 2002 There are only 2 things I like about steiner. 1. His T-bone suplex 2. His heel stylings. For #1, I am a mark for said suplex. For #2, I reference Spring Stampede 99 with his match vs booker t. It took steiner about 10 minutes to get into the ring because he was busy pissing off the crowd. I LOVE THAT! Its NEVER done anymore, and if it is it is in the ring when a guy basically says 'this town sucks, insert sports team _'. But to go up to the fans have a chick rub your muscles while her husband is all pissed off is a REAL way to get heat. Other than that he is just a waste. His promos are incoherant and he is a stiff in the ring.
