Guest TheMikeSC Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 This desire for Scott is simply the thing that a lot of WCW "stars" have now---it's been a while since people have seen them and they have forgotten why they didn't watch them in the first place. Nice fallacy.>> Thanks. I try. << If WCW went out of business, then it must be the WRESTLER'S faults, and none of them could possibly be worth watching.>> Didn't say that. <<Right.. couldn't have had anything to do with the horrific management and booking?>> Didn't say that. However, their ME roster WAS terrible. <<Get real. Scott Steiner was one of the few reasons to watch WCW in its final days. >> Steiner's matches were more formulaic than a HHH squash. -=Mike ...Boot to the face, belly-to-belly suplex, kiss the bicep, elbowdrop, cover, get up at the 2-count, do some push-ups...
Guest TheMikeSC Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Agreed, his Match with Booker on the last nitro was one of the best around. So He was a reason to Tune in, Just to see what he would do next. >> Is signing a guy who has the same marketing appeal as a car wreck really equal a good business decision? <<But I will say this he has lost a step in his in ring work rate since he put on the muscle. >> He lost a step? He lost a quarter mile when he put on the muscle. -=Mike ...Fortunately, he had Animal, Nash, Sid, and GB around to mask his deficiencies with their rampant sucktosity.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 "It took steiner about 10 minutes to get into the ring because he was busy pissing off the crowd" that's called stalling. I still think the WWF would better be served developing a new guy as a killer heel. Fuck the earning your spot shit, just run over everyone roughshod, providing he can work. Steiner can't work. And his last matchwith Booker was Booker carrying Steiner to a watchable match with some classic Johnny Ace finishes.
Guest Brian Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 Every heel they develop ends up being either chickenshit (type A) or comical (type B), so what's the point.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 "Every heel they develop ends up being either chickenshit (type A) or comical (type B), so what's the point." HHH was the exception. It doesn't have to be that way. The WWF may choose it that way but they can create some legit badasses if they choose. I bet it would draw more money than this b-level acting crap they are dishing out now.
Guest Some Guy Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 I think Steiner is too big and scary looking to be (type a) comical, tough his incoherant promos are funny sometimes, and (type b) cowardly. If Booker who is not the best worker (although he his very good IMO) in the world can carry a crippled Scott Steiner to a "watchable" match then imagine what Austin, Angle, Benoit, and Jericho (all of whom are superior workers to Booker) could get out of him. I think it is worth a shot for Vince to bring the guy in. He looked pretty decent tossing Disco around on the WWA PPV. If he doesn't work out in the ring or backstage tehy can just "Bagwell" the guy out of the promotion.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted February 26, 2002 Report Posted February 26, 2002 It was very entertaining stalling...
