Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Carl Pohlad is an old miser. He's the real life Mr.Burns. He spends jackshit on the Twins, and he offered too contract the Twins.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 24, 2002 No doubt Pohlad is the worst guy in baseball after Bud Selig(who has managed to do everything to fuck our sport up)...Mark Cuban is a great owner, and I like how he shows his desire to win and have fun and he actually gives a god damn about the fans. Coolest Owner EVER!
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Why is Cuban on that list?? I think he is a great owner. He turned the Mavs into a winning team in the West, provided them with all the luxuries they need and he is the owner owner with enough balls to stand up to Dviad Stern. Cuban is one of the good owners in the NBA.
Guest Brooding Genius Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Why the hell is Steinbrenner on that list? So long as you don't cross him, he's great to work for. Say what you will about the Yankees, but it's a first-class organization from top to bottom. And Donald Sterling (L.A. Clippers) is the NBA's answer to Carl Pohlad. All these good feelings about the Clips are about to go down the drain when he refuses to pay his players what they deserve.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 24, 2002 Actully, everyone on this list is a good owner...they do everything they can to win, while Pohald is the only one trying NOT to win.
Guest gthureson Report post Posted February 25, 2002 Major League Baseball is the worst owner. They took over ownership of the Expos, and allowed Loria to rape the team on his way out. Even though the coaching staff and managers were under contract to *the team*, MLB let them all go to Florida with Loria. They even took all the computers with Expos pro and minor league scouting reports on them. Which belong to the team, not the former owner. They didn't allow them to make any offseason moves, and likely will not make any trades during the season. Sure, you can say, "It's only the Expos", but if it had been any other team with a *real owner*, there would have been compensation coming back to the Expos in the way of players from Florida. Not so with Bud essentially running the show. They should have just folded the team or moved it Washington, which is what the rumour is they are going to do after this season anyway. Sad end to what was once a pretty damned good franchise.
