Guys, this is just a little reminder of what happens when you don't keep the writers in mind when you book. This is a little reminder of what happens when you try to get greedy when you're in power over someone in a federation.

Read starting with Justin Goldman's post named "Just a quick note". Kellen is the de facto commissioner and has been for months now... Justin owns the site and the backstory is that this PPV was marred with Justin, who wanted a bigger role, demanding to judge the main event and Last Man Standing.

 

Both were a travesty, the wrong man obviously won both matches.

 

The FWF, the LONGEST open fed on the internet, running nonstop for the last five years, is finished now. It will be closed within the next day or so.

 

Remember what you have... think about what you're doing before you try to alienate the writers. Use this as a reminder of what can happen.

Well, that link doesn't work, but damn....that blows. I truly hope we get a good amount of spill over from this, because Lord knows we could use it. Cast, Merc, Spark...tell those guys to come over here and join up.

 

I mean, I'm sure we're up there as one of the longest running feds now, with nearly 2 years under our belt...so, maybe some of those guys want to control their own destiny for a change. Although, I'm not sure how happy they will be coming from being in one of the top feds to being in the JL...but hey, we have rules dammit!

 

BTW, Cast...I want to see what was written on those boards, so...if you saved it or whatever, drop me a line.

The biggest problem with trying to get RP fed guys to join a match-writing fed is the vast change of format... they hate the workload of matches vs. RPs. RPs, while you end up writing more, tend to stay fresh a lot longer and matches, while they are a ton of fun, often drag when you're writing long ones.... (anyone here can vouch for that)

 

I'm gonna go downstairs for a few minutes, but when I come back up, I'll try to accurately recount the events that lead to this... and the reason why the link doesn't work is because Goldman closed the site last night. It's done now.

 

FYI, a lot of feds claim to be 4 years old, but FWF is the longest, consecutive running fed. 5 years... taken down because of stupidity.

Alright, back from class now so I can tell you guys "Exactly" what happened.

 

About a month ago, Justin Goldman... the owner of the FWF's website and former president/commissioner, threatened to fold the federation and sell the website if the current commish/man in power, Kellen Crumb, didn't let him have a larger role in the fed.

 

Grudgingly, Kellen gave in and let Justin book the main event for Heat Wave and judge for Last Man Standing. What harm could it do, right?

 

Well, progressively, Justin made bigger and bigger gaffes with booking throughout the month. He pushed certain matches that didn't make much sense and shied away from specific angles people wanted. The shows were geared entirely to Mr. Goldman's angles.

 

People were definitely getting fed up and Kellen couldn't do a thing. So, Heat Wave comes and Mercury, Drew, JD Lawson (the champion), Jason Hartnell, Mike Lloyd, and Andrew Davis are duking it out. It appears Merc is about to win the belt... the only person close is JD Lawson, but Merc thoroughly out-RPed him.

 

The week prior was the LMS finals. I told you what I thought, I had a legitimate shot to win and the only other person close was also JD Lawson.

 

New world champion: Jason Hartnell.

LMS Champion: Mike Lloyd.

 

Total bullshit, both of them are favorites of Goldman. Neither of them won legitimately.

 

So, in effect, everyone gets really, really pissed and someone starts a petition to have Goldman simply be the webmaster and let Kellen do his thing. Goldman, in retort, says he's gonna close the FWF at 6 PM yesterday.

 

It was a joke, he handed the fed over to "Gary Brown", a wrestler he formerly handled. It was a complete travesty.

 

Sick of the bullshit, Kellen quits. Everyone else follows.

 

I don't blame him, and I was one of those who quit because of the fact that Goldman was going to stay involved in the fed, even usurp power further.

Suddenly our little problems here over matches don't seem like such a big deal. Didn't Goldman realize that everyone would quit if he did what he did? And doesn't he realize by folding the fed, he loses and everyone else loses as well. Everyone loses their fed and Goldman loses what little power he had with the website and such. Dummy!

Xero...he meant that we're not going to get the influx we're looking for until we affiliate ourselves with a site that's bigger than thesmartmarks. However, we're pretty happy here, and I doubt that will happen any time soon, as we saw the chaos caused by our last move. However, as soon as someone gets off their lazy ass and makes our website, we'll have a good promotion tool there and a possible link on the smartmarks main page.

Affiliating ourselves is not what I meant at all.

 

As much as you guys don't wanna hear this, we won't grow without our own site.

 

With this site, we need more than links to the boards' stat thread and whatever the bum-fuck was on the last one. We need to do, for example, our cards... results... everything on the site. The match-writing format doesn't need to change, but we need to take to base the stuff on the site.

 

Our current way may have worked for a while now, but we won't grow from a low-tier fed to a larger one until we do so. Right now, we're a message board game, not an e-fed.

 

The site can't look like it was made by third graders, it has to be NICE... thus Thugg or someone else. However, it's not reasonable to think a professional will do this for free and then update it frequently. We need him to make a user-friendly site that everyone who should be updating it... can. And easily, too.

 

In order for him to do this on OUR watch, we need to pay him. Or, we need to hire someone else.
