Clark was picked up on waivers in the off season with about 5-6 mil on his contract. Throughout his career he has produced very well when healthy, he's had a terrible year and seems to show no signs of changing that. He'll end up with a huge pay cut next year if he still wants to play. He'll be lucky to get a million with 3 hr and less than 30 rbi. But he does seem like a nice guy.

Why the hell is it sad?The players that shot their mouths of more than anyone where either mediocre or bad players who are lucky to be in the Major Leagues. God forbid I don't wannna hear the great Greg Zaun say the players have already given up enough. I never heard Doug Glanville or even Tony Clark really say anything. They may think what Joe Giradi or John Burkett said but their at least smart enough to keep their mouths shut and not piss off the fans.

I;ve never heard him put his foot in his mouth like Burkettt did, he knows what he's doing and says what the fans want to hear. But what I'm curious about is whether or not he or any other underacheiving players feel guilty for taking all that money while not earning it in the least bit.

They're not exactly earning Rodriguez money. Tony Clark and Doug Glanville will both be lucky to earn much above the minimum next year.
Guest Some Guy Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I understand that but $5-6 million for 3 HR and 28 RBI with a .215 AVG is crazy. Clark should give about $4 mil back just as gratitude for the team not releasing him, like they did to Garces, Oliver, and Offerman.
