Continuing with my plees for help with certain wrestling info for my project, I'm asking for someone to give some important events in the WWF for 1984 and 1986. I think I am up to speed with the other years, but these two I only know the bare essentials. Debuts and such during these years would be a start and what have you. Thanks to anyone who can help.

1984:

January 24, Hulk Hogan defeats the Iron Sheik for his first WWF title.

June 9,  the WWF takes over Georgia Championship Wrestling's timeslot on WTBS.

1986:

April 7, Wrestlemania 2 comes from 3 different locations: Uniondale, NY Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA.

August26?, WWF draws 70,000 fans to Exibition Stadium fot the main event of Hulk Hogan v. Paul Orndorff.  It was called the Big Event.

I'm to sure if that date it correct.  I know it was in late August.  If I can think of more information I'll poist it for you.

I can help you out with some info., and can add some to what Sykotic2002 said about the GCW timeslot going to McMahon.

April 1984 - The WWF gets a two-hour Tuesday night time slot on the USA network. The show would become "Tuesday Night Titans". Show would be cancelled in mid-1986.

May 27, 1984 - Vince McMahon Sr. dies.

May 1984 - The WWF signs action star Mr. T & singer Cyndi Lauper. The "Rock 'n' Wrestling" ERA starts with unprecedented mainstream press.

July 14, 1984 - "Black Saturday": Vince McMahon takes over the GCW timeslot airing previously taped WWF matches. WTBS is flooded with complaints by viewers. When McMahon was asked about the viewer complaints by the Atlanta Constitution, McMahon replied: "We'll show those complainers the difference between a major league and minor league production, given time." The WWF now appears on all sorts of TV outlets. WWF wrestling airs on Saturday and Sunday on WTBS, the USA network, MSG cable, and 103 syndicated stations. Vince would later sell the timeslot to Jim Crockett Promotions.

September 25, 1984 - McMahon is able to book Hulk Hogan as a guest VJ on MTV.

March 1, 1986 - "Rock 'n' Wrestling" is still on fire, as the WWF airs the first ever Slammy Awards on MTV.

Also, 1984 was the year Jesse Ventura was hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs and forced to retire from the ring unexpectedly. Of course, he then became a color commentator.
