Guest Listen2Reason Report post Posted August 31, 2002 I guess there's no proof it's a hack as such, but I think it's gotta be. Check it out: RIAA Hack It talks about the RIAA now being okay with distributing files over the net. It also provides links to MP3s you can download (all Linkin Park, I think). It's hilarious. Of course, it may not stay up that long...
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Not loading for me. But funny thing is, the Screen Savers had a poll up on their site, and live on air - at the end of the show, they showed the results. The Question was, "What should be done about the RIAA" .. and 98% of the voters voted for "Hack Them" .. 1% voted for "Join Them, their right!" ... heh. Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted August 31, 2002 October, it's really just an "RIAA" release apologizing for their methods and offering downloads to a few songs.... too bad they're not any good (Linkin Park, ugh). And I think it was on that same Screen Savers you mentioned, during the news portion, where it was theorized that this was a hacking. But notice how the link listed by L2R ends in htm, while the rest of the pages on the RIAA site end in cfm. Why would the RIAA list a different page like that on their own site? ... Which makes me think that this was a hack.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 31, 2002 Man, and they wasted their time on Linkin Park? For shame...
