Guest Joe_G Report post Posted August 31, 2002 So, Galavision decides to air the lucha block at 4:30 Eastern Time. And I’ve got to be somewhere from 5-6. No problem, I pop in a tape and I’m on my merry way. I get home at six and find…my VCR’s not recording. Turns out the power went out at about 5:08, so I’m missing everything from then ‘til about 6. Meaning I missed seeing La Familia de Tijuana. Argh. WHAT WORKED I see about four minutes of Safari, Volador Jr., and Hombre Sin Nombre vs. Virus, Fuerza, and Juvie. Juvie looks like he’s got a golf date after the match. The first minutes are cool as they’re all Virus intensive and he takes a great monkey flip from Volador. Juvie tags in and looks like he’s trying, which is always a good thing. My tape cuts out as the rudo fan yells at HsN. Argh. OK, I join Shocker, Casas, and Vampiro vs. the GdI as Casas and Bucky are fighting it out in the primera caida. That means I missed Ultimo Dragon. ARGH. Hey, Casas is wearing boots. Casas gets Bucky with a Fukiwara armbar as Shocker gets TB with La Reinera. Segunda caida is structured with each of the tecnicos facing all three of the rudos. The Vamp sequence was good. The Shocker sequence was quite good, as I never get tired of Shocker vs. the GdI. Negro looks great as well, actually pulling out an inverted swinging DDT that looked good for once. Buccanero decides to take his standard knee destroying bump by flipping over the top rope to the floor after a Casas dropkick to the knee. We get another Shocker/Tarzan segment (yay!) that sees Shocker flatten the rudo with a somersault dive to the floor. That leaves Vamp vs. Ultimo, and soon enough UG blocks a kick and nails Vamp in the nuts for the DQ. Oops. Bucky looked to hurt himself legit—I hope he’s ok. Much Yelling Into The Mic™ afterwards. Wish I’d seen the primera caida, but this had plenty of good action to carry the day. WHAT DIDN'T WORK Villano III and Rayo pontificate on their upcoming match. Gigante Silva ambles by and I think we need a sitcom with all three of these guys. Sadly, Silva can’t match his peerless performance from the Guapos skit with Magica and Shocker. The tagline says (translated) “To one fall--three versus four” like that’s dramatic or something when every Silva match is like that. Our first match finds Pierroth, Emilio Charles, Blue Panther, and Black Tiger vs. Rayo de Jalisco, Villano III, and Silva. Pierroth vs. Rayo and Silva—my word. The ring announcer screwed up and for a second I thought he said “Black and Blue Panther.” This thing actually starts off with a cool sequence between Villano III and Tiger and Panther, including Villano KILLING them with a senton from the apron to the floor. Rayo makes Emilio fall outside the ring, then starts running like he’s going to do a dive. Well, “running” may be pushing it…more like a light stroll. That alone almost made this match work. Black Tiger tries so very hard against Silva. I wonder if all the rudos in the back have a contest to see who can make Silva look the best? Tiger’s gotta be up there. Panther comes in and freaks out because Silva is TALL, and begs for mercy (and maybe kisses his feet, I couldn’t tell). Villano III gets quadruple teamed for a while, so he tags in Silva who hits the forearms OF DOOM. Then HE gets tied up and punched by the rudos for a while as the scrawny ref holds back III and Rayo. After a while Silva escapes and the tecnicos recover, pinning Pierroth after a Villano senton. Pierroth gets pissed and brings out Rico Suave with the flimsiest cookie sheet in history. They clean house for the DQ. Rayo actually puts his arms up for a cookie sheet shot. Alright then. Silva finally chases the rudos off as Pierroth Yells Into The Mic™. At least we got to see Commando Girl~! THERE YOU HAVE IT Joe EMLL on EZboard
Guest razazteca Report post Posted September 1, 2002 what you missed was Ultimo Dragon did a promo in the ring in spanish, not sure of what he said but it was something like its great to be back in Mexico then the Guerreros de Inferinos came in and beat him down as Ulitmo Guerrero, Rey Bucannero and Tarzan Boy came to the ring for their match. Shocker then came out with Rastafarian hat and that crazy oversize yellow shirt chasing away the Rudos. You also missed the weekly 1000% Guapos casting segment as both Shocker and Mascara Magica are standing infront of a trash barrel burning photos and resumes of wanna be Guapos.
