Guest O.J. Hart Report post Posted September 1, 2002 Tonight was my first High School dance, and it was AWESOME!!! It all started with me arriving at the High School Gym around 8:50 with my best friend Andy, who is a senoir so he gave me a ride, and I saw my girlfriend Shelby making out with a 10th grader named Tommy. I went over, punched Tommy, and said to Shelby "We're over bitch." and I walked away and me and Andy just smoked a cigarette or two outside before the dance. Then, when I went in, some beautiful girl in 11th grade grabbed me and pulled me into the bathroom and started making out with me...it was all good. Her name was Jessica, and she had brunette hair, nice tits, brown eyes, and beautiful white teeth. For the next few hours, me and her danced, and we kissed alot during the slow dances. Then, I called my mom, told her I was sleeping over at Andy's, but I was really staying over Jessica's. My mom said I couldnt because we had to leave the next mroning for a big thing we have in the mountains every Labor Day, so Jessica is coming with us tomorrow and we're staying in a cabin from tomorrow after till monday afternoon. Man, tonights dance was fun. They played good bands like Hoobastank, the white Stripes, The Strokes, and they played the Beatles "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" for a slow song, which was neat because it was the beatles and it was last song of the night. See you guys on monday night!!!

Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge Yeah, but I assume that your stories aren't completely fabricated.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 1, 2002 Oh, mine are all true, because my style of telling them makes them funny without extra stuff being thrown in. And wasn't this the girl he devirginized? Oh yeah, you made her SCREAM. I wonder why she went for someone else? When I was a Freshman, 11th graders didn't even look at me. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I have absolutely no fond memories of school dances. At my junior year homecoming dance, this enormous librarian caught my girlfriend and I making out in a nearby playground. Being the smooth talker that I am, I attempted to get out of any sort of trouble by engaging her in a literary discussion. I ended up talking to her for forty five excruciating minutes...my girlfriend even abandoned me just to get away from her. I could not, for the life of me, find a way out of that conversation that didn't seem incredibly rude.
Guest papacita Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I never went to any high school sponsored function other than the senior prom and my graduation, so I don't know much about high school dances. The one dance I went to in High School was on a trip to Tenessee in senior year, and despite the two bisexual girls getting freaky on the dance floor (!!!) , the dance sucked. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 1, 2002 One observation I made at these dances was that the more confident female dancers were content to basically rhythmically shove their ass in the crotch of whomever they were dancing with all night. I never got to enjoy that sort of thing, sadly. All of my dates were as scared to get up and groove as I was. Another thing: Due to having some connections, I got to make a few requests to the DJ at my junior prom. Upon the first note of the first song, the dance floor cleared. I was humiliated. Everyone got back out for the Electric fucking Slide, though. God, I hated high school.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted September 1, 2002 It took me until Senior year to really get some balls and bust a move on the dance floor. That, and I finally had some notority around the school. That and I was on public access television, as well. Such fond ::pukes:: memories. Of course, they were just a couple of months ago... Guest Phr33k Report post Posted September 1, 2002 You say she had beautiful white teeth? My guess: all 4 of them... Of course, I'm jealous of you, cause your school dances contain Beatles music. We get Britney Spears and boy-bands with names like Teen Angst, coupled with rock bands with names like Stomach Contents or The Intestinal Parasites. This goes on for 4 hours. Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I didn't care what they played, I could get down to anything. Highlights: SLAM DANCING during "In the End"(my date was nice enough to pick my glasses up off the ground before I stomped on them) and being known for backing my ass up better than most of the females. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I think I went to two dances in high school, with the same date both times. Both were not bad, if not terribly memorable. The first was a "retro" theme night, so of course the DJ they hired had no idea about this, and didn't even have "Disco Inferno" onhand. And he got on the house mic and said something about me being on crack. No, really. Oh well, I still had a WHOMP ASS~! Fonzie hairstyle and a bizarre way-too-tight pale tan leather jacket that I borrowed from my dad (god knows where he got it, I didn't THINK my dad freebased in the 70's), which was the bees' knees until a friend of mine came in and trumped it with a complete Scarface-mode white leisure suit. Ah well, my date was cute, and I had fun. The other? Senior prom. This was the spring of '98, so of course everyone wanted a Titanic theme, and of course the anal administrators shot it down (I'm still not sure which side of that conflict was more pathetic). To make matters worse, the students tried to sneak by with a Lusitania theme instead, but that didn't float either (groan), so we ended up with a really generic theme which might've been mistaken for taking place on something which vaguely resembled a boat. Someone swore that I was drunk for this one, and I was completely sober all night. Yep, I'm that weird. Anyway, I had an almost-traditional tuxedo (unusual collar, lacked a tie) that didn't look half bad, and my girl's dress was stylin'. I had my pockets filled with disposable cameras and was taking pictures all night long. They did this thing where all the senior "couples" got announced and walked down a ramp, and me and her got more cheers than I had expected. All in all, not bad. (And TRITEC, I ain't exactly a Chippendale dancer myself, so I present my experiences as proof that homely people can have fun too.)

Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I remember my school dances. I did not go to many during Freshman year. I ended up going, but not really doing much, and wishing I had done more, but I was too overwhelmingly shy to do so. Sophomore year, I rather forcefully was dragged on the dance floor by this one girl. She was kind of weird. Her hair was brown with shades of purple, among other colours. She was cute and a cheerleading alternate, so it was not that bad. We danced the whole night, as I tried to do the YMCA, failing miserably. That was a fun night, though nothing ever came out of it. The next few dances sucked basically, until Junior year where I had some fun during the dances. I will never forget the one where the everyone left an hour beforehand leaving like 20 people left at the dance or something. They proceeded to play song which required a lot of people to dance to them. Like the Hustle, and a few others. It was okay, it could have been better had I not wimped out and not called some girl I had a huge crush on at the time. The next dance, some other girl who had interest in me wanted to slow dance with me at the dance, unfortunately, fate decided to torture me and play fast songs for a good 90 minutes straight. They finally played some slow Savage Garden song, and then her and I could not find one another, thus starting my string of bad luck with women while Savage Garden was playing. On a side note: Fuck you Savage Garden. During Senior year, I never really went to dances much. I believe I went to the first dance that year, but not to the other two. I just was not into it. Overall, I enjoyed school dances and wish I would have done more during them. Oh yeah, and we had music like the Spice Girls, random one hit wonders, and Britney playing most of the time. None of that crappy Hoobstatank stuff.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted September 1, 2002 "I saw my girlfriend Shelby making out with a 10th grader named Tommy." I know cheating isn't any good, but it's funny in this case. "They played good bands like Hoobastank" And an exaggeration, since Hoobastank isn't what I'd call good. For my HS dance experiences... Well, I never had any. Being an outcast with no social skills at all, I missed out on a lot of stuff in High School... but moreso, since I never had a high interest in school-sponsored functions. Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted September 1, 2002 OJ's subtitle: "No, but I play one on TV." Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge That's gold Kotzenjunge. My suggestion was "The 3-Minute Man" or "Hot Tub Correspondent"

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 1, 2002 Oh yeah, did I mention the internal flaws with a story involving any high school dance playing The White Stripes? And if you were going to make up there being Beatles songs, why not pick a better one for a last dance, like "The Long and Winding Road?" That would be better. Ah screw it, I'll just rewrite your story sometime tomorrow. I would do it tonight, but Random Observations needs to be finished. Guest JHawk Report post Posted September 1, 2002 My high school stopped having dances (outside of homecoming and prom) when less than 20 people showed up to one the cheerleaders had as a fundraiser. And true story, half of that 20 were the cheerleaders.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I only go to homecoming, and even then I only go to say hi to a few people and actually get out of my house. If homecoming this year doesn't interfere with work, I'll probably be out to smoke with a few friends.
