Why was Jim Hellwig banned?

Whyzat? He seemed to post intelligent thoughts without flaming people irrationally.

He was probably someone that was banned before. I believe the policy here is that if you're banned for something, and you come back with a different name, you're gonna get banned again.

Yeah, and he didn't do a very good job about hiding it.

"Yeah, SummerSlam was okay. I can't wait for Test on Raw!"

Is it that unfathomable for Test to have more than one fan?!

Yeah, you're right.

Around here, more than one Test mark would be a true anomaly.

Well, I am the only X-Pac mark. I may as well go ahead and say it:

I don't think Test is that bad. Really. If he improved his skills a lot and everything, you know, if he learned how to wrestle... I would mark for Test.

I mean it. I already mark for his character.. Oh DAMN.

Forget I said that.

I was watching a RAW from January the other day--don't ask why--and Test did this skit with Torrie Wilson where he used the line "Once you've had Test, you forget about all the rest." THAT was funny. If they'd been a little more patient, he could have eventually gotten over with that character.

I LOVED that line. I think I actually used it once, and it didn't make any sense since nothing in my name rhymes with Rest, but I was such a mark for that line...

Another funny Test moment: In WOW magazine when they did a profile of Test, they said "Devout Test fans will know..." I couldn't read anymore nor do I remember what the fact was(it was Test beating Jarrett for the IC title for one night now that I think about it), but it made me laugh for an hour.

"Devout Test fans..."

How do banned people come back anyway? Are posters banned by name or by IP?

They're banned by IP.

They're banned by IP.

Different IPs, smartass! Uhm, yeah... It's not hard...

Oh yea... why didn't I think of that? I mean I'm dial-up, I have a different IP every time...

I thought maybe they banned the "group" of IPs, a la 209.112.*.*, to prevent the majority of the different IPs possible for re-occurring, since at least with my dial-up most of the IPs, although dynamic and different, almost always occur in the same main "groups" except for the last three or six numbers.

Anyway, what's the significance of the name Jim Hellwig, anyway?

The Warrior needs no name, unlike us normals..

Don't let it get out that HHH is God.

Just because we all love the Warrior...

Mooney: Thank you Mean Gene, I'm with the reigning Intercontinental Champion Ultimate…

Warrior: YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A NORMAL!  You don't deserve to breathe the same air that I and Hulk Hogan do!  Hulk Hogan, I must ask you now, as you asked me: Do YOU, Hulk Hogan, want your ideas, your beliefs, to live forever?  For Hulk Hogan, in this normal world, physically, none of us can live forever.  But the place you have taken the Hulkamaniacs, the ideas and the beliefs that you have given them, can live through me, Hulk Hogan.  That is why I breathe, that is why the Warriors have come!  Hulk Hogan, there are ones that question where you are taking them.  Do you no longer want to walk or step into that darkness?  Hulk Hogan, the darkness I speak of is nothing to fear.  It is about the beliefs of accepting any and all challenges at the cost of losing everything, Hulk Hogan.  You have lived, Hulk Hogan, for the last 5 WrestleMania's for this one belief.  Now, Hulk Hogan, I come to take what you believe in further than you ever could!  I come, Hulk Hogan, NOT to destroy the Hulkamaniacs and Hulkamania.  I come, Hulk Hogan, to bring the Warriors and Hulkamaniacs together as one.  As we, Hulk Hogan, accept all of the challenges with all the strengths of the Warriors and the Hulkamaniacs together.  Hulk Hogan, the colors of the Hulkamaniacs are coming through the pores of my skin.  And Hulk Hogan, when we meet Hulk Hogan, I will look at you, and you will realize then, that I have come to do NO ONE no harm!  But only Hulk Hogan, to take what we believe in, to places it never has beeeeeeeeen!"

And vs HHH at WM12, which I will download and watch over and over and over and over and over....

I just can't wait to read his book, where I'm told he has many memories memorialized.

They're banned by IP.

Actually, most of them aren't. The ones who have static IPs are banned that way, but that's basically restricted to broadband users. Dialup users often have different IPs, and it's pointless to ban that way because someone else could be assigned the banned IP the next time they sign on.

I thought maybe they banned the "group" of IPs, a la 209.112.*.*, to prevent the majority of the different IPs possible for re-occurring...

The problem there is that you end up banning too many people. If a mod goes to ban someone and enters "150.200.100.*" into the ban filters, that bans 254 different IP addresses. If "150.200.*.*" is entered, then over 65,000 IP addresses are banned. People who would never do anything to get banned might login with an IP in that range and be informed that they're banned. That's a bit of a scorched earth policy to go after one person.

Yes, but only a select few of us.

Usually, it's not by choice.

Would it be too mean to mock you?

I mean, in light of the fact that you wouldn't be able to see the post for a couple of months.
