CZW Tournament of Death Results

I know I could have put this in the other 50 thousand threads I've made about CZW in here, but this will be gone in a week, so, ah well.

 

Blatantly stolen from czwfans.com, but I'm buying this (and BOTB2) sometime next week (smartmarkvideo.com!) and will be more then happy to toss in my two cents.

 

Attendance anywhere from 500 to 650, but more then XPW.

 

Zandig vs. Nate Hatred

They exchanged a series of closelines until Lobo, Flash, Rose, Z Bar, Rebel, Green Phantom and Arsenal came out and attacked both men and Messiah came out and cleared the ring and said he was entering in the tournament in the place of Zandig and Hatred.

 

Hardcore Ninjas vs. Green Phantom and Arsenal

Some nice double team moves and hard hitting spots by both teams. To tell the truth, I don't remember who won.

 

Wifebeater vs. Necro Butcher

Wifebeater stapled Butcher's shirt to his tounge and sidewalk slammed him through a mousetrapp board and threw other mouse traps at Butcher. The match ended when Wifebeater Chokensteined Butcher off a stage through a pyramid of chairs.

 

Nick Gage vs. Mr. Insanity

In this match, Thin strips of wood with nails that are used to fasten carpet to the floor were fastened to the ropes and busted both men up early on. Gage came out with the weapon I made (H8 spelled with light tubes) and was gorilla pressed onto it. Gage won with a Brain buster onto the strips of nails.

 

"Sick" Nick Mondo vs. Homeless Jimmy

Jimmy came out with a shopping cart full of weapons and they were used through out the match. In the end, Mondo gave him a sick Assault driver of a Ryder truck through a pyramid of tabled with a log cabin of light tubes. This was one of the greatest bumps I have ever seen.

 

Backseat Boys vs. New School vs. Fraiser and Sunjay vs. Towel Boy and Dahmer

Chris Cash was hilarious, yelling at the fans the entire match. Sunjay and Fraiser were eliminated first followed by Dahmer and Tuttle. The backseats hit a double crusifix pwerbomb on Cash ontop of GQ to pick up the win.

 

Ruckus vs. Berk Vs. Pain

Tons of high flying moves by ruckus. Neither berk nor pain hit their finishers and in the end Ruckus beat Pain with a rollup.

 

Nick Gage vs. Wifebeater

A huge pain of glass was set up in each corner and the men wrestled a great match with tons of spots. Wifebeater dumped thousands of tacks into the ring and both men were slammed numerous times onto them, Gage gave wifebeater a huge piledriver off the apron through a table. In the end, Wifebeater gave Gage the Chokenstein off a turnbuckle through a pain of glass layibg across 4 chairs.

 

"Sick" Nick Mondo vs. Messiah

This was a fans bring the weapons match and mondo focused on messiah's thumb and messiah went through chairs stached with tubes, beer bottles and a stop sign. He gave Mondo the Fall from Grace but the Rachies and Lobo attacked him until Zandig made the save, But it allowed Mondo to hit the assault driver for the win.

 

Mondo vs. Wifebeater

This was a 200 light tube match with barbed wire wrapped around the ropes. Tons of ligh tube shots. Beater used a weed wacker on Mondo followed up by the Chokenstein. Wifebeater is the Deathmatch champion. After the match Mr. Insanity, Butcher, and Jimmy attacked Mondo and Beater, but the hate club made the save and Zandig, Mondo, Messiah, Wifebeater, Gage and Hatred all stood in the ring and hugged and thanked the fans and Zandig cut a promo on Rob Black.

 

 

 

My personal thoughts:

 

MESSIAH FUCKING WRESTLED? MONDO FOCUSED ON HIS "THUMB"? Wrong on many parts, but I guess this was Messiah "return" to wrestling. I'm pretty sure there will be an "official" one later.

 

Homeless Jimmy's bump apparently was insane. I'll have to wait for the video.

 

I'm honestly surprised at the Hatred/Zandig match. I had Zandig going to the finals and beating Necro Butcher, so Zandig could say he beat the IWA-MS KODM, so he was the true KODM.

 

I figured the winner of Necro/WB would go onto the finals, and I figured it would have been Necro. I was wrong, apparently.

 

Those carpet nail boards used as a gimmick? Ow, ow, ow.

 

200 lightbulbs, ropes wrapped in barbed wire. All we need is No Rope Barbed Wire 200 Lightbulbs and we're all set. Hmmmmm ::PM's BPP about OAOAST::

 

Again, I'll have more impressions once I order and see the video, which should be next week if I fill it out in the begining of the week. SMV is known for having a fabulous turnaround time in getting videos out, so if I send it out on Monday or Tuesday, I should have it at the end of the week. Time to freak out the dorm.

wh00! I knew I was right to cheer for Homeless Jimmy! Soon as I get money that I don't waste on DVDs I'll be sure to pick this one up.

 

Messiah's return to wrestling? Wow, that's so awesome and at the same time so weird, though its really messed up that the guy focused on his thumb. Storyline injuries? That's cool that's psychology, but considering what happened to this guy in real life? That's really messed up...

I was under the impression that when the scum broke into Messiah's apartment that they cut off his thumb and took it with them. Ho can Nick Mondo focus his attack on the thumb if it is not there. I don't want this to be considered tasteless, I am just curious how they did it.

I'd assume that the focus was just on his hand in general, not the "thumb". Any reports on how well he wrestled, handicapped and still healing as he was?

I'm holding off on buying the tape for a couple of days, simply because I want to see what others have to say about the tape quality during the later matches. It got wicked dark there, so I'm hoping that SmartMarkVideo was able to use decent enough lighting for the later matches.

 

But I'm getting Best of the Best 2 no matter what, and then either TOD or Cage of Death 3.
