Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted September 1, 2002 Yo... so I'm recording some songs off the radio with my mic with Sound Forge, however my mic port is REALLY weird. It only records in stereo if I keep the cord about halfway plugged in and really loose, if I plug it in fully and snugly, it switches to mono and only plays/records on the left channel. What's up with that? Are all mic ports like that, or just mine? For reference, I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop and am running Windows XP. If anyone needs any more info, I'll post it. And yes, I realize you're supposed to use line in for recording and such, however line in ALWAYS records in mono, when it works at all.
