DVD question

Recommended Posts

Guest kkktookmybabyaway

I just bought a few DVDs last night and noticed that one "Face Off" has these tiny white dots in them. Their not very big, and only last a frame. However, now that I've noticed them I get distracted every time I see them. I really haven't noticed this before in my other DVDs, so I'm not sure if this is a common trait.

Are these "imperfections" due to the disc or my player (doubtful because I just cleaned it before playing FO). Would it be worth it to return the disc for a new one, or would the same problems be on any disc with this title?

Just wondering...

I'd guess it's from the transfer and not the physical DVD itself.

I have the Face/Off DVD (not here, though, so I won't be able to watch it until Tuesday). At what point (HH:MM) in the movie do you see the white dots? I can see if my copy has it.

Ok, I noticed a sizable one when Travolta, now the bad guy, goes into a room with his brother eating a bunch of food and singing. He just turned him states evidence and they're planning on taking over the world.

Travolta turns off the recorder devices and walks into the room -- that's when I see the dot. It flickers for a moment on the wall.

Merci beaucoup...

OK, I'll look out for it when I watch it this week (maybe someone here will beat me to it).

Thanks, please note when I say sizable it's not that big but it still makes me do a double take...

Are they in the upper right-hand corner? If so, they're nothing more than DVD's version of the little dots that blink at the end of a film reel in the theater.
