Guest MrRant Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I decided to watch it again last night since I watched He-Man and the Transformers: Armada earlier and I still got choked up when Optimus Prime dies. Especially after he went through all the Decepticons and just whooped ass. I remember crying as a kid when that happened. Optimus ruled the earth.
Guest permagrinning Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I cheered when iron hide ate it. Murder Death Kill on a saturday morning cartoon? Bring it on.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I got a bit choked up when Windcharger died, since he was the 1st Transformer I had. Starscream had probably the best line in the movie (aside from Bumblebee's "Oh, shit") when he was dumping Megatron: "Oh, how it pains me to do this" (or something to that effect)
Guest MrRant Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Doesn't everyone love the guy who does the voice for him and Cobra Commander? He just did it perfect.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Starscream owns us all. I shudder to think how much Transformers season 2 is going to cost me. Season 1: 16 episodes...50 dollars Season 2: 49 episodes...???? yeesh
Guest MrRant Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Starscream owns us all. I shudder to think how much Transformers season 2 is going to cost me. Season 1: 16 episodes...50 dollars Season 2: 49 episodes...???? yeesh Your life.... <waves hand in Jedi-like manner> Transformers ownz you and you will buy it... no matter that cost.... </waves hand in Jedi-like manner>
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 The best part is "dun dun dundun You got the touch dun dun You got the Powerrrrrr yeah" Then Optimus just runs over everyone. Stan Bush kicks ass.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I will pay anything... anything
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 http://www.diamondcomics.com/previews/prod...rmers_sea2.html Apparently it will only be 90 dollars. First question how could they do 49 episodes for 90 dollars. Second question if that is true how much ass does that fucking kick?
Guest Vyce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Starscream was, and always will be, my favorite Decepticon. What a fucking back-stabbing PRICK he was. Which is why I love him. My favorite line of the film - Megatron, right before he wastes Ironhide. Aiming his gun at the Autobot's head. "Such heroic nonsense." *BLAM* Goodbye, sweet prince.
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 http://www.blastotoys.com/stores/previews_...tle=Transformer And here we notice that season 2 comes out October 22nd. Hell Yeah the last week of October is going to rule all. That, the new season of 24 starts, GTA Vice City all coming out between the 22nd and 29th. Greatest. Week. Ever.
Guest MrRant Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Optimus Prime ownz all cartoon heros. The man rolled through like 15 Decepticons in the movie.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 According to Rhino Home Video, the second season will be split up into two sets. Season 2: Volume One will come out in October, and Volume Two will come out in January or Febuary. Why they aren't releasing the entire second season in one box set is beyond me. They say it's to "save us money". Yeah, sure.
Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I love cartoon pricks like Starscream and Vegeta... I guess Rhino is sincere in terms of saving us money...I'd rather have a 40+ episode season split into two volumes rather than carrying home a $90+ 8 disc box set of some sort. But back on track, my favorite part of the movie is when Starscream walks over to the fallen Megatron and fucking KICKS him. That shit ruled.
Guest Lethargic Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I finally got to see Armada. That was the gayest piece of crap I've ever seen. Why can't they quit turning Transformers into Pokemon?
Guest starvenger Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 (aside from Bumblebee's "Oh, shit") Spike's the one that swore... I guess Rhino is sincere in terms of saving us money...I'd rather have a 40+ episode season split into two volumes rather than carrying home a $90+ 8 disc box set of some sort. Well, this'll help me out a bit in terms of allocating money for the sets, I guess. Either way, I'm buying the diss...
Guest Renegade Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I remember marking out as a kid (and still now ) when Hot Rod opened the Matrix in the final battle. ("You got the touch, you got the power...yeah!") How he managed to suddenly grow into a truck is beyond me but anyways. Too bad they brought back almost all the autobots that were killed in "the return of Optimus Prime."
Guest converge241 Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 One of my favorite movies of all time the death the music the swear !! it blew my mind when i saw it in the theater and i was sooo happywhen it came out on dvd
Guest Si82 Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 Man I love that movie! It was the first flim I went to see. I loved it. When it came out on video I got it straight away and I still have it to this day. Man I'm going to have to and watch it now. My favourite part is were Starscream gets blown to shit by Galvatron. Starscream: "Meagatron, is that you?" Galvatron: "Here's a hint!" Galvatron then transforms into that cannon thing and blows Starscream to pieces. He then transformes and crushes Starscreams fallen crown under his foot. Man that so rules!!! By the way what's going on with Transformers now? We don't get it here in the UK.
Guest J*ingus Posted September 3, 2002 Report Posted September 3, 2002 What's going on: a couple of really fucking lame "new versions" of the old cartoon that completely shit on the memory of the old one. Why couldn't they got the same people who did the perfectly good new He-Man series to work on Transformers also?
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 Hasbro has decided in their "infinate" wisdom that each new cartoon from now on will be it's own universe and have no connection to shows past. If you wanna an epic story arc go watch Generation One, Beast Wars, and Beast Machines. Considering that Beast Machines is the definitive end to G1 it makes sense to start off new. Plus you have to keep in mind that since you grew up on G1 nothing will ever live up to it and also remember that this show is geared towards children. It's a 23 minute toy commercial just like G1. It's cool to not like Armada but the series hasn't really even started yet just the first 3 episodes have been shown... give it a chance. And while I do like the new He-Man it too has only aired the first three episodes... it could do a 180 and go straight to suck-ville in a hurry. If any of you guys wanna talk TFs goto the Transfandom: 2005 Boards.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 The Transformers movie was fantastic. My favourite bit was when Rodimus Prime opens the Matrix inside Unicron. "Now... light our darkest hour!" Also, the earlier bit when the Quintesson ship crashed through Unicron's eye kicked ass. And although Starscream's voice annoyed me, I loved Megatron/Galvatron.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted September 6, 2002 Report Posted September 6, 2002 heh. I always hated rodimus prime. And if you didn't cry when you saw optimus prime die, you are just not human. And that's the only instance i'll ever say that. That movie is pure brilliance from start to finish with great animation as well.
Guest Black Lushus Posted September 6, 2002 Report Posted September 6, 2002 the worst thing about Armada being on Cartoon Network is that the voice of the original Optimus Prime does the commercial breaks but it's a different guy on the cartoon. damn them, teasing us so!
Guest Vyce Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 It's a weird world, isn't it? All our lives, most of us men were taught that it wasn't acceptable for us guys to cry. Yet just about all of us bawled our little eyes out when Optimus bought it. That & Bambi's mother. Those still get me. Anyway, you're right - nothing will beat Generation One. Who here remembers the episode where Starscream's ghost (!) returned to haunt Galvatron?
Guest MrRant Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 That's because Prime was the shit. He didn't take shit either. Walked the walk and talked the talk and blew away 15 Decepticons in one run.
Guest Lethargic Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 Anyway, you're right - nothing will beat Generation One. Who here remembers the episode where Starscream's ghost (!) returned to haunt Galvatron? Just watched that one last night. Well I think there were two like that. One was called Starscream's Ghost and one was Ghost in the Machine. I watched the second one last night. It's where he shows up and takes over Scurge's body and goes to Unicron's head. Unicron will give Starscream a new body if he'll help put Unicron back together. He does and gets his new body. Of course he immediately gets shot and jettisoned out into space. I think it would be real easy for them to beat G1. Make a GOOD SHOW. Use those characters. Add some new ones. Upgrade the old ones a bit. You can still sell toys. But you'll probably sell more with an actual GOOD SHOW. Face it, I really believe that more adults watch and buy Transformers than kids. I've never seen a kid today that actually likes Transformers anymore. And that's sad because all they know about Transformers is bullshit like Beast Machines. Optimus Prime is a ape. Good God how retarded. You know what I hate most about Armada? Besides the animation style I mean. I've only seen the first episode, but from what I can tell it seems that all the Transformers are already set to transform into their earth type stuff. In the original series, they didn't originally transform into cars and crap until they got to Earth and got rebuilt. So it just really doesn't make sense why this robot millions of light years away turns into a semi-truck or a digital camcorder.
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 It's just that their Cybertron Forms are fairly close to their Earth Forms. In the 2nd Episode you get to see how they get their new forms. The sad thing is that Hasbro lost the rights to a lot of the old G1 names like Hot Rod and Ravage... I would love them to do an update with the G1 guys too but at this years BotCon (yes there's a convention) Hasbro again denied any committment to what has come before and will continue moving in new directions every couple of years. Armada has 50 some odd episodes left to show guys... depending on who is watching it either a neat two year ride or pure Transformer hell. Oh and Peter Cullin the voice of G1 Prime just won't do voice overs for violent cartoons just commercials. He believes that Saturday Morning violence does indeed have an effect on children.
