While i'm here

Seeing as I correctly figured this match was a guaranteed loss for me, why not see the match that I didn't get posted?

----------

Funyon: Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the first match of the night, scheduled for one fall. Introducing first..

[The lights dim and then "Something bad is gonna happen" by Fenix TX starts to play.]

Funyon: From Detroit, Michigan.. weighing in at 300 pounds, LEON SHARPE!

[Leon Sharpe comes out wearing his t-shirt. Sharpe points to the shirt and walks down to the ring carrying a duffel bag while he tries to his t-shirts as he walks. He steps over the top rope and manages to get a ring microphone somehow.]

Leon Sharpe: Ladies and Gentlemen.. I, Leon Sharpe, know the way to the San Jose. When I landed, I knew I was in the right place, in the right town. San Jose, California!

[Pause for effects from a cheap pop.]

Leon Sharpe: The best thing about San Jose and the West Coast is that people out here love Leon Sharpe t-shirts. I just know they do. In fact, If you look hard enough some time tonight, you can find some being sold. I need some more money so go and buy a shirt. I have some t-shirts here.

[sharpe smiles as he unzips his duffel bag to reveal a whole lot of Leon Sharpe t-shirts.]

Leon Sharpe: Now, I am moments away from facing Manson. Who is a bleak individual, an individual who is unhappy, an individual who lacks one important thing in his life. That thing is a Leon Sharpe t-shirt. Manson, we may not like you, but we don’t really hate you either. Brutha, come on down to the ring, and after I beat you viciously, I’ll drop a t-shirt on your limp body. Manson, I know that when you drink alone in that bar, you will turn that frown upside down when you buy my shirt! Manson, Get the Point?

[sharpe hands the microphone back to Funyon and tries to persuade him to hand over some money while holding out a t-shirt for Funyon to wear.]

Funyon: Introducing second…

[sharpe is holding Funyon up by trying to sell his shirt. Sharpe then leaves the ring for a moment.]

Funyon: Okay.. Introducing Second… From New York City, weighing in at 215 pounds, MANSON!

[As we notice Leon Sharpe taking off his t-shirt and selling it to a small child. "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" by Prong begins to play, as the SmarkTron comes to life with a grainy entrance video, colored in shades of gray. Bloody red strobe lights flash on and off in the arena, as Manson tosses aside the entrance curtain and stops at the head of the rampway to stand for a moment in the crucifix position. He breaks out of his pose, and slowly makes his way down to the ring, focused on his destination. We see Sharpe back in the ring, as he makes a sell and hands a t-shirt to Funyon for about 30 bucks. Manson rolls under the bottom rope, immediately tossing off his jacket as he pops back up. Right before he walks to the corner to sit on the ground, Raven style with his arms stretched out against the ropes.]

Axis: Sharpe is going on the offensive early while Manson was in the corner.

Edwin MacPhisto: Sharpe isn’t in the mood to waste any time after his disappointing debut this week.

Suicide King: Because if he did waste time, he would lose again to one of the top contenders. Haha..

[sharpe pounds Manson in the corner with lefts and rights, in an attempt to weaken him so Sharpe can exert control over the match. Manson tries to escape the corner but Sharpe keeps punching and using forearms to batter him. Manson executes an eyerake and then he takes over control in the corner. Manson begins to hit knee strikes to the midsection of Sharpe. Sharpe tries to stop the strikes at first by grabbing the knee of Manson. Then Manson goes and hits him with some chops to the neck since Sharpe had to lean forward to grab the knee. Manson attempted some more knee strikes but then Sharpe tossed him out of the corner, in a display of his power]

Edwin: Great display of power from Sharpe right here!

King: He shoved a guy, big deal. It’s not as if he’s lifting a car or anything. I could do that

[sharpe cracks his knuckles before walking out of the corner to confront Manson. Sharpe hits Manson with an elbow to the head but Manson moves out of the way before Sharpe can go for another elbow. Manson hits some punches on Sharpe. He goes for an Irish whip, but Sharpe ducks Manson’s clothesline. Sharpe comes off the ropes and goes for his own clothesline, only to have it blocked by Manson. Manson counters into an attempt at an armbar.]

Axis: Manson trying to take Sharpe down to the mat with an armbar.

Edwin: Sharpe is proving too big to take down for just an armbar.

King: Yeah, Manson should kick him a few times low and then put on an armbar. Yank his arm out of its socket!

[sharpe is being dragged down to the mat by Manson’s armbar, but he manages to squirm to the ropes so he could kick at the ropes so the hold is broken. As Sharpe gets up, he is met with some snap kicks to the legs from Manson. Sharpe tries to brush them off at first, not having too much success blocking the kicks. Sharpe whips Manson into the corner and charges in with a big boot, but Manson gets out of the way. Manson kicks at Sharpe’s long legs some more, causing Sharpe to be startled.]

Axis: Sharpe is not expecting those hard kicks from Manson.

King: If he doesn’t expect that, he is stupid. He better expect anything he can think of from Manson, because Manson is looking for a win here.

Edwin: Manson does need a win here to get back on the right track.

[sharpe charges in and he takes Manson down with a lariat. Sharpe goes for a follow-up by dropping an elbowdrop and he goes for a cover]

One!

Two!

Axis: Kickout by Manson

Edwin: You won’t pin Manson with just an elbowdrop.

[sharpe picks up Manson by yanking him up by the hair. Sharpe smirks a bit at Manson and then Manson goes on the offensive again. Manson runs off the ropes and takes Sharpe down with a clothesline. Manson goes for an elbowdrop but Sharpe manages to sit up just before Manson can drop the elbow on Sharpe. Sharpe gets up and Manson tries to meet him with kicks, only to have Sharpe whip him off the ropes. Manson ducks a clothesline and comes back off the ropes, only have Sharpe grab him and give him a Tilt-a-whirl side slam. Sharpe goes for a cover.]

One!

Two!

Axis: Kickout by Manson

King: Sharpe can’t finish off a contender like Manson with that move. Sharpe plainly has no luck at keeping Manson down on the mat.

Edwin: Don’t be so sure.

[sharpe yanks Manson up by his hair]

King: Now, I like that kind of aggression.. Sharpe wrestles like he’s in a back alley with knux. I admire the cheating..

Edwin: Sharpe is messing around with Manson here, this may not be wise.

King: May not be wise? Edwin, don’t sugarcoat it! You don’t try and piss off Manson

Edwin: Unless you think you can handle him

[sharpe smirks again, only get kicked by Manson as he gets up on his feet. Manson hits Sharpe with what might be a low kick.]

Edwin: Ooooh, Sharpe will feel that in the morning!

King: It’s not like he’ll be using them. Now, that’s cheating I can mimic!

[Manson whips Sharpe off the ropes and when Sharpe comes back, kicks him in the gut and hits him with a snap suplex.. He takes the big Sharpe down and makes a cover.]

One!

Tw..

Axis: Kickout by Sharpe there

Edwin: Sharpe needs to re-focus here, he should use what he has.

King: I guess when you have very little, you adapt. Sharpe should know that.

[sharpe gets back up to his feet, only to have Manson kick him in the mouth. Sharpe holds his mouth and then plasters Manson with a clothesline that may be from hell. He goes for a cover.]

One!

Two!

Axis: Kickout!

Edwin: Knowing Manson, he must have loved getting smacked hard by Sharpe’s lariat

King: He didn’t love it, but he can tolerate it since he knows that he knocked some of Sharpe’s teeth loose.

[sharpe pulls Manson up, only to have Manson surprise him with a small package from Manson as he is picking him up off the mat.]

One!

Two!

Axis: Kickout by Sharpe.. He has been stunned by that sudden small package.

Edwin: Without a doubt, he was.

King: What the hell do you think he was reacting after that? He was outsmarted there, plain and simple.

[sharpe shakes his head a bit and then gestures to the crowd something involving pulling something off of himself Manson attacks him as he is doing this. Hitting him with some punches and kicks and forcing him into a corner. Manson pulls Sharpe out of the corner, lifting him up and dropping him down with a gourdbuster. Manson drags Sharpe to the middle of the ring and it looks like he will be applying a Rings of Saturn. But, Sharpe is trying to power out of the move and prevent it from being applied. Sharpe elbows Manson in the gut and gestures again.]

King: What the heck if Sharpe gesturing for, what reason does he have? You idiot! Attack him!

Edwin: He’s signaling for something..

Axis: Sharpe with a knee to the gut, and he’s taking Manson’s t-shirt off of his back! He’s taking Manson’s "Manson" t-shirt and tearing it off him

Edwin: Sharpe is getting revenge for the cheapshots laid on him earlier.

King: He hates competition also!

[sharpe takes the t-shirt and throws it into the crowd. Only to be met with an angry reaction from Manson.]

Edwin: Somewhere in that crowd, a fan has a souvenir of a lifetime.

King: I’m sure they’ll love to keep that on their wall, you would want that Edwin, wouldn’t you?

[Manson hits Sharpe with forearms and punches, trying to startle Sharpe. He runs towards the second rope and comes off with an Asai Moonsault. Sharpe realizes this and is only able to get out of the way seconds before Manson does the move. In a display of Manson’s ability, he is able to land on his feet.]

Axis: Incredible display of agility from Manson right here! Sharpe comes in, Chokeslam, no.. Wait.. Manson is trying to counter with an Armbar.

King: Kicking Sharpe low again would definitely break up that hold. Kids, always cheat and steal! And then blame somebody else!

Edwin: Whatever..

Axis: Sharpe somehow counters with an armdrag takedown. He breaks up that attempt at an armbar there.

[sharpe comes off the ropes]

Axis: Sharpe going for a kick. Manson catches the foot, he might want to try a dragon screw on the Big Sharpe

[Manson instead counters by spinning Sharpe around so Sharpe’s back is in front of him.]

Axis: Manson now locking his arms around Sharpe. This might be a German Suplex

Edwin: No way he hits this!

Axis: Sharpe kicks Manson low.

Edwin: I don’t like that, you see the referee warning Sharpe as he goes behind Manson

King: I love cheating, it makes me feel warm inside.

[sharpe takes Manson down with his vicious German Suplex.]

Axis: Sharpe with his own German Suplex! Manson just got thrown like a lawndart there and Sharpe hooks a leg.

One!

Two!

Axis: Kickout by Manson

Edwin: Manson can take a licking and keep on ticking. Sharpe will just have to keep hitting him.

King: I really hope that God doesn’t punish me by having Sharpe lick Manson. Edwin, you are sick in the head.

[sharpe stands up and waits for Manson to get up on his feet. Manson gets up with fury as he throws more kicks and knees at Leon. Leon manages to block some kicks and then counter with an Exploder Suplex, taking Manson down to the mat. Sharpe goes up to the second turnbuckle and he comes off with an elbowdrop, only to miss as Manson gets out of the way. Manson kicks at the arm and wrenches it before hitting Sharpe with a kick. Sharpe is trying to shake it off as Manson is able to get to the top rope.

Axis: What does Manson have planned here?

[Manson comes off the top with a bodypress. But, Sharpe catches him and powerslams him.]

Edwin: Vicious powerslam by Sharpe. He was alert enough to counter that move..

Axis: Sharpe picks up Manson, Side Slam by Sharpe. Sharpe up, and he hits a kneedrop and he goes for a cover.

One!

Two!

King: Kickout!

Axis: Kickout by Manson. Kneedrops may not be the big weapon to take Manson out when it comes to this match

King: You say what is obvious.. Keep it up Junior

[sharpe picks up Manson, only to have Manson try to put up more of a fight. Sharpe whips Manson off the ropes and hits him with a Big Boot, taking him down to the cold mat. Sharpe goes for another cover.]

One!

Two!

Axis: Kickout by Manson..

King: Nobody in their right mind would get pinned by a big boot, especially one from Sharpe.

Edwin: Don’t be so confident of that. I figure even you lost because of a big boot.

King: Hey, I slipped and fell just as he was doing that.

Edwin: Sure…

[sharpe waits for Manson to get up, and then he comes in and picks up Manson in a gorilla press.]

Axis: This might be Sharpe’s finisher, the Silver Bullet.

King: Isn’t Silver Bullet a brand of beer or something?

[sharpe instead hits Manson with the setup for the Silver Bullet, a Press into a front slam.]

Edwin: Silver bullets kill werewolves King..

King: That’s nice to now, but we don’t have hairy men here

Axis: Meanwhile in the ring, Sharpe is pressing Manson again.

King: It’s see Manson get out of this like Blank did!

Axis: SILVER BULLET! There is no escape tonight! Cover by Sharpe!

Edwin: Stick a toe-tag on him, he is done for!

One!

Two!

Three!

Axis: Sharpe wins!. Sharpe has just defeated a one time contender to prove himself as a threat here in the SJL.

King: Sharpe’s threat is still hollow to me.

Edwin: I’m sure Sharpe will be getting a rematch with Blank soon.

[Meanwhile in the ring, Sharpe has unzipped the duffel bag of t-shirts.]

King: What is this shill doing with the t-shirts?

Edwin: Quiet down, he just wants to give some out.

King: He charges 30 bucks for a t-shirt with his face on them, it’s robbery!

[sharpe takes out a t-shirt and kicks Manson a bit, to see if he reacts.]

King: Dumb idea Leon, unless you’re gonna beat his ass, then I’d like that.

[sharpe gets down on the mat, and puts his t-shirt over the limp body of Manson.]

Edwin: Hey, how charming of Sharpe.. Manson will not leave here a total loser.

King: Yeah, just a loser with a bad t-shirt.

[sharpe picks up Manson and points to him.]

Axis: Sharpe might be a good sport..

[sharpe then clotheslines Manson down to the mat.]

King: You sure called that, didn’t you?

[sharpe smiles as he walks off leaving Manson out in the ring with a ‘Leon Sharpe’ t-shirt on him.]

King: Leon Sharpe is a modern-day Amway salesman. I’m surprised that he didn’t mug Manson to get 30 bucks. I would have laughed at that.

Edwin: I would presume that Sharpe will find a way to get paid for that shirt. Still, I guess you have to sell them somehow.

King: Especially when nobody wants to buy them!

Axis: Let’s move on here..

Edwin: Hey, I’ll buy a Sharpe t-shirt when I have the chance to do so.

King: Uh huh, sure you will Edwin.. I believe you!

[King sneers]

Axis: Let’s move on please..

----

Any more of this and Sharpe will be on the level of a Cutthroat.. <_<

Hell, I'd hate to have to cut my losses and leave so quickly, but, you never know.

Here we go. Next time, though, just put the title as "Losing Matches Thread". That way, everybody can post their losing match.

Now on to yours, the actual fighting portion of the match wasn't that bad, but the beginning really made me bored. Your own entrance was very short (so I guess you made that up with the promo), and that's surprising since most match-writers tend to make their own entrance longer.

The short promo had nothing to do with the match, it was just you trying to sell t-shirts, so that bored me. If you had come out, made fun of Manson a little bit with smart ass stuff, it would have made me jump for joy.

Anyways, now to the fighting portion of the match:

First, don't get discouraged, I had this very same problem and I was helped by a very good writer. I won't say who it is, but he helped me alot.

The match went on (to me, at least) like this: Sharpe fights, he dominates, Manson tries to come back, can't, and then, loses.

Try to make your opponent look much much better than you (that's how I do it). Have them dominate most of the matchup, then, near the end, have Sharpe come back in impressive fashion to take the momentum. A little more fighting with Sharpe coming back, finisher hits, boom! 1,2,3. Done.

You could also limit the commentary, because that was just way too much. But it's all kewl, you'll get better.

If you need any more help, feel free to PM me. I'll be more than happy to send some friendly advice.

I agree with most of what Erek said, but having Sharpe not dominate is kinda hard to write... he's a big man, yo.

The t-shirt selling thing was gold, in my eyes, as well.

It may be hard, but it's not impossible.

Recall Judgement Day 2001, where the main event was UT vs Austin. UT had the upper hand early but Austin came back with some cheap shots and dominated the majority of the match and ended up winning.

You could also see the Lerrin Breggan match vs Annie. He had himself on the defensive end the majority of the match then came back to win.

All are examples. But it's up to how you write it. If you're going to write yourself to dominate, do it like the HVT.
