The One And Only Rate A Banner Thread

Lets be fair to those who don't want to rate banners by making a TOAO thread.

 

Well I will start with these three.

Out of those banners, I prefer #3, for its colour. Somehow I feel that the text should have been different, but... That could be attributed to personal taste.

 

#1: Font/font colour could be a bit more crisp, but I do like your choice of pictures. I think it's the best banner of the group.

 

If your pictures and everything are going to be so melded into the background, then your text should be really sharp and clean.

 

Expand your selection of fonts, too. There are so many cool ones out there.

 

Acid Fonts, for example. There are probably thousands of fonts there; just try looking through a few pages. Find something you think would look good.

 

Keep working at it. You don't suck.

Benoit Banner: Not bad, but you can clean that cut up some.

 

Clique Banner: Honestly, I don't like it much. It looks like you used the eraser to wipe out the background instead of the trace/lasso tool, and as a result, missed some of the background. It looks a little sloppy.

 

Flair: Looks great.

Benoit: When you're doing PSD cuts like that, try to erase all of the white around them. Or if you can't, blur it like I did on my Albert banner. It's better to just remove it, though.

 

I personally wouldn't use the same picture mirorred like that, but it's your choice. There are some really good PSD cuts of Benoit you could use.

 

The background's cool, but you should have filled that white space in the middle with.. something. Another picture, maybe.

 

The text colour is looking pretty good now, but I just dont like that font. C'mon, he's a Canadianm Crippler! Get a mean looking font.

 

Clique: You should get some higher quality pictures of them. Like, say, no screencaps or autographed shots. Try to get everyone relatively the same size, perhaps.

 

The font colour doesn't really go with much of anything. But the background is okay. Oh, and once again, you're using the same font for everything...

 

That's a kickass concept for a banner, though!

 

Flair: Mirrored pictures again.. Good choice of colours; the font colour works perfectly. That font's not that bad in this case.

 

The faded out text on top is a pretty nice effect, but it's distorting his face in what should be the main picture.

 

 

You're improving each time. Just try to keep experimenting with new things.

thanks. My favorite I made was the sting one.

 

The Clique banner was me fooling around for 5 mins after searching google for Tag team pics. Then I just had fun making (bigger) tools out of them. I would have added Justin Credible, but I can't find any yellow jock strap pics.

 

I found some more fonts so I can retire that one.

Midnight Express: Amateur. I don't know what else to say. The background is extremely.. cheap. The colours suck, the font sucks... Even the cut on the picture leaves something to be desired.

 

Kurt Angle: Not that bad of an effort, but... Terrible. Bleah...

 

 

Good thing those weren't serious attempts, ..eh?
