Guest Karnage Report post Posted September 2, 2002 Starting in September, Marvel is going to release some of the comics bi monthly. Some of the titles include Ultimate Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men and a few others. This is good since I get to read more Ultimate Spidey....but bad since I hafto spend more money. Guest starvenger Report post Posted September 2, 2002 You mean, biweekly, right? Bimonthly is what Uncanny used to be waaaaaaaaaay back in the day. Marvel's gone the biweekly route before. Sadly, this led to such legendary storylines as Capwolf and Avengers vs Alpha Flight vs the Russian super-team (I want to say October Guard, but that was GIJoe, I think). With the creators on the current crop of comics, however, this shouldn't be as bad...
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted September 2, 2002 The bimonthly thing was done way back in such titles as Amazing Spider-Man (when it was advertised as "the non-mutant hero"), Uncanny X-Men, Wolverine, and Captain America (hey starvenger, you forgot about Teen Cap!). It was done during the summer months when supposedly kids have more money to spend and comics sell better. Most recently they've done it with such titles as Iron Man, but that only lasted for one month.
Guest Karnage Report post Posted September 3, 2002 Yeah I meant bi-weekly. Speaking of kids reading comics, I never see that anymore. All i see is old people at the comic shops.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted September 3, 2002 hey starvenger, you forgot about Teen Cap! Yes, well, I tend to shut out a lot of "hero becomes a teen" stories. Not to mention the entire Superia storyline. Mark Grunwald may have been a helluva nice guy, but he didn't always create great stories... I've heard rumour about Marvel changing titles to an 18-issues-a-year schedule. Things like Uncanny having both Garney and Asiyama as "regular" pencillers would seem to support this... Guest raptor Report post Posted September 4, 2002 I thought that it'd be a good thing originally, but this week made me change my mind. Marvel is playing catch up with some late titles (creating a bi-weekly effect, with Punisher, New X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men all coming out rather quickly) and my bill has shot up to 30.00. If i's like that every week I'll have to cut back on some titles.

I'm seriously thinking of cutting back.
